This journey started many moons ago for me. Once upon a time I lived the corporate life and had the 'ideal job' as a public relations consultant. The hours I worked paid me well, I was well known. However, somehow all that success did not make me feel any sense of true peace within. Literally i was would up like a 'spinning top' ready to explode. One day a very dear friend of mine looked at me and said, "you need to take a chill pill", and she didn't mean another glass of the then fashionable Riesling! Little did I know going with her that day would literally change my life. She took me to my first yoga class at Birkenhead Point in NSW, it was okay, kinda stretchy and doable. THEN they made me lay down for what seemed hours...... Shavasana - rest and recover mindfully..... they were kidding right, what a ridiculous time waster that was...... No. I did not take to it, the moving bit maybe, yes, the laying down bit, they were joking with me right? ..... It took years to come tome, Mrs slow learner you may say! I cannot tell you when I "got it", one day I stopped fighting Shavasana and all the other meditations I participated in and didn't get (it was good for me, therefore I did it...) Now the busier my schedule - the longer the yoga and meditation is before the day begins - yes allow myself more time so the day flows better.
Meditation can become a natural part of your daily life. This introduction level course that also shares some tips and tricks to uplift every day of the week that I have learned over many years of engaging with some wonderful teachers.Please honour yourself, there will be some meditations that you will go 'YUK' and that is okay.
As you move along you will begin to notice that your meditation is the breath of the soul. Just as breathing is the life of the body, meditation is the life of the soul.

Meditation can assist you by helping you to quieten your busy mind.
With the hectic pace and demands of modern life, many of us feel stressed and over-worked. It often seems as if there is simply not enough time in the day to get everything done. Our heightened stress levels and associated tiredness make us grumpy, unhappy, impatient and frustrated. It can adversely affect our health.
We are often so busy we tell ourselves that there is no time for meditation, no time for to nurture ourselves. However meditation actually gives you more time by making your mind calmer and more focused. Start with only two minutes a day, once you are comfortable with this length of time then you can extend it. If you start with 20 minutes you are not likely to continue. Simple breathing meditation, even just two minutes, as explained above can help you to overcome your stress and find some inner peace.
Meditation can help us to understand our own mind. We can learn how to transform our mind from negative to positive, from disturbed to peaceful, from unhappy to happy. In time this can become a profound spiritual practice you can enjoy throughout the day, not just while seated in meditation. Everything, every action can become sacred and filled with peace and joy, from waiting at the bus stop to hanging the clothes on the line.

Our lives are influenced by colours, gem stones and aromas and impact important elements such as our courage, strength, our ability to heal, self esteem, creativity and even the will to live.
By bringing in some ritual, listening in a deeper way, we can reconnect and engage in this moment, in relationship with our our own self as well as each other.

A brief introduction to Sunday, the solar plexus. Wear the healing colour of the chakra vibrating with the suns colour of glorious yellow. Maybe you will prefer the traditional colour therapy colour of orange, that may work better for you on this day.What ever you do today take some time to actually connect with the Sun and Sunday even if it is for a very brief moment or two. The pause is important.

Bold bright and beautiful Sunday.There are many tools for you to choose to help assist you on this day. Choose what resonates with you and you cannot go wrong.
To practice the Ha Kriya, come to Mountain Pose (standing pose feet slightly apart). An active meditation.
With your next exhale, step or jump your feet three to four feet apart with your feet parallel to the ends of your yoga mat if you are using one.
Bend your knees slightly and feel the earth beneath you and the strength of your legs. Ha Kriya consists of a series of quick inhales and forceful exhales as you repeat “Ha” with each exhale. There is a wonder filled empowering feeling in this practice. To begin, inhale and raise your arms over your head with your hands in fists. As you exhale forcefully, repeat “Ha” and bring your fists down to hip level with the finger-part of your fists facing up. With your next inhale, raise your fists back over your head. Repeat the same breathing pattern four more times in rapid succession. Each exhale should be forceful and “Ha” should be repeated aloud with some vigour.
The Breath of Fire is the alchemical mix practice that combines sound, breath, movement that transform and become the internal fire of transformation that happens when we completely let go.
There are several forms of Breath of Fire.Within this Video I demonstrate four variations on the main way that Breath of Fire is practiced.

Be outside and take in the warmth of the sun's dying rays. The sun is radiating warmth and comfort as it shines. Feel the warmth flood through your being...
Quieten your mind of its chatter. Take a deep, slow breath in through your nose and out through your mouth. Keep breathing in and out, focusing on how your body feels at this very moment. Feel the pace of your heart and lungs becoming slower. With each breath you receive, breathe in relaxation and breathe out any residue tension and tiredness. Feel your body sinking more and more into deep relaxation.
As you either have your eyes averted or gazing softly into the distance, you see that the sun is beginning to set in the sky. You feel very relaxed and soothed.
A very brief introduction to Monday - the Moon's day. Personally I follow her cycles and honour her deeply. Whenever I feel out of touch I simply go outside and bathe under both the star and moonlight.

Monday has often been the unspoken enemy of people who totally enjoy their weekends. That's quite a few people. It is a known fact that we really can't drop Monday from the days of the week,Monday mornings are often viewed the THAT moment of the week. A new work week has to start and that we must say goodbye to the bliss and comfort of the weekend. Do not let this moment become something so related with Monday.
Remember that Mondays should be welcomed with great enthusiasm, enormous hope and a tank full of energy. With that said, lets prepare for an inspiring Monday with devoted meditations and helpful hints to liven up this day. It maybe difficult to get out of bed after a wonder filled and fun weekend. But what can we do? You need to live life so starting life means you need to start well everyday of your week, including Monday!

A hint to aid going deeper in this meditation is to light a long candle ritual of gratitude, set intention beforehand -laying any shadows to rest with your blessing. You may sound the word Thoth quietly within, please know that to sound within is very powerful.
Make your mantra for this meditation "Seek, expand, trust and illuminate". If at first you do not see the candle illuminated within your third eye, simply try again another day. Your diligence will be rewarded and slowly your intuitive skills and third eye will open.
This meditation is best done in the early evening/
Chant with pure joy and devotion to the moon. It is best chanted 108 times, however any repition of the number 9 is fantatsic. 108 times could seem a little daunting to begin with, 9 easy!
Om Shreem Som Somaya Namaha. Generally this mantra is a "seed" mantra, so these are not real words, they are "vibrations", they instill a state of mind, a harmony. Basically the seed sound "Som" instills joy and love and it harmonises with the Moon. Namaha appears in many mantras as 'I salute' at the end or beginning. Om or Aum is often thought as the essence of the universe and all creation.
After the mantra (chant) move with pure joy and freedom, allow your body's wisdom to unwind any stress that may be within and let it release as it will.

Aligning with rather than fighting necessity unleashes creativity,so pay your dues and do due diligence to birth your potential.
So much to choose from! Wednesday is governed by the planet Mercury, thus it is a mercurial day for decisions. It is the day for your heart chakra and why not wear the colour green.
Nadi Shodhana is a a beautiful breathing technique that can assist you to keep your mind calm, happy and peaceful. Several minutes of Nadi Shodhana pranayama is a terrific way to unload and de-stress the mind, helping to release accumulated tensions stress and fatigue.
This breathing technique is named Nadi Shodhana, as it assists in clearing out blocked energy channels in the body, which in turn lead to a return of peace within and calms our frazzled mind.
nadi = subtle energy channel;
ida = lies to the left of the spine
pingala = lies to the right of the spine
sushumna = central channel along the spinerunning through the seven main chakhra points
shodhana = cleaning, purification;
pranayama = breathing technique;
Things to remember whilst practicing this pranayama:
When we are deeply connected to our own needs and feelings, and have cultivated a loving relationship with ourselves, our relationships with others will then mirror the love we give ourselves. We are not talking of a hedonistic love but an essential elemental deeply respect love from the core of our being.
Governed by the planet Jupiter to inspire our connection with our crown chakra, Jupiter lords over religions and philosophy not to mention long distance travel. A day for bliss. Jupiter is known simply as the planet of luck. Jupiter is also very future orientated concerned with bright unexplored territories. Jupiter asks you to stop under-estimating yourself.

The word "Bhramari" comes from the sanskrit name bhramar which is Humming bee. The practice of bhramari breathing calms the mind, reduces the stress or fight - flight response. It reduces celebral tensions, anger, anxiety, insomnia, The blood pressure is also lowered. This pranayama is very effective in speeding up the healing of body tissues and may be practiced after surgeries.
Bhramari pranayama has a calming effect on entire nervous system, especially it stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, which induces muscular relaxation and is very effective in stress management. So this pranayama is very effective for relaxation of body and mind.
In this pranayama we need to create a sound while exhaling and inhaling in the throat. The sound is similar to chanting of Om. The sound should be deep, steady and smooth. Inhalation is a more advanced form so please do not fret! Something to aim for.
The noise of bhramari's buzzing can drown out the endless mental tape loops that can fuel emotional suffering, making it a useful starting point for those whose minds are too "busy" to meditate.
Clear your throat and soar. Many of us have issues surrounding our ability to speak up, the voice our truth. It remains hidden under a multitude of layers. Taking the time to rest, meditate and uncover where and why these blocks cam to be is a heros journey. Dive in, deeply, do not be afraid.

This is a 'go too' pose for me. Anytime I am feeling a little stressed or out of balance, over tired I come to this pose. By the end I have let go, I am restored and sleep is dreamy and blissful.
Viparita Karani is commonly known as Legs Up The Wall. It is a wonder filled restorative yoga pose that reverses the blood flow from the toes to the torso, in particular it benefits tired legs and the back is positioned nicely for rest and length.
This is a wonderful counter to the 'flight or fight' mechanism, which many of us have set into overdrive due to the frantic pace of our lives.
