Hello and welcome to my course on building and piloting a community based, inclusive, learn to swim and water safety program!

Participants of this course will learn about occupational therapy's role in designing and implementing inclusive learn to swim programming, the benefits of a community based program for children and their caregivers, and teaching strategies, protocols and supports that can be implemented in an 8 week, caregiver facilitated pilot program for children 6 months to 3 years old.

This course contains lectures, resources, and research to support this topic area. Additionally, there are resources that can be dowloaded to support your learning. At the end of the presentation, a 4 question knowledge check will be completed to assess your learning gained by viewing the course. It will take approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour to watch the presentation and view the attached resources. This presentation was created with evidenced based practice and clinical experiences, and there are several APA references and research articles that can be viewed at the end of the presentation for additional supplemental learning opportunities.
