If you've never worked with corms before, they can be a little intimidating when they first arrive in the mail but we've done the soaking and re-hydrating process for a few seasons now and have learned a few tricks along the way we would like to share with you.
This is a quick recap on some of the important factors you need to consider like how long to soak your corms and what temperature you need to keep them.
It's time to plant! Even if you are not working with the same size of space we are, the same principles of planting will apply. We'll show you a special rake that's easy to modify that will help you plant your corms uniformly! From here we'll demonstrate steps like rigging a frost cloth to running irrigation lines then capping it off with a discussion on the differences between going direct to soil versus continuing corms in a cell tray container.
Now that your flowers are planted it's time to discuss how to take care of them through the season. We'll discuss weed and pest management including how to introduce beneficial insects. We will also go over irrigation and talk about signs that you might be over watering.
The moment you've been waiting for! You've put in a lot of hard work to get to this point and you'll want to make sure you are harvesting your flowers at just the right moment to get the maximum benefit.
