Description

6 Excel VBA Practice Problems

Instructor: Mo Mehta, Data with Mo Mehta LLC

Want to strengthen your Excel VBA skills by actually using them?

This course is a focused set of six hands‑on Excel VBA practice problems designed to help you apply core VBA concepts in realistic, practical scenarios. Instead of long lectures or theory-heavy walkthroughs, this course emphasizes learning by solving.

Each problem mirrors common logic patterns and automation challenges you’ll encounter when building real Excel tools — from decision logic and randomness to structured data organization and reporting.

This course is ideal if you’ve learned Excel VBA basics and now want targeted practice to solidify your skills.

What You’ll Practice

Through six guided problems, you’ll build VBA solutions such as:

  • A Random Quote Generator
Learn how to work with randomness and user interaction.

  • A Decision Tree Tool
Practice conditional logic and branching workflows using VBA.

  • A Calendar Generator
Apply date logic, looping, and layout control within Excel.

  • A Password Generator
Reinforce string manipulation, randomness, and validation logic.

  • A Task List Manager
Build a simple, structured system for tracking and updating data.

  • A County Health Report
Practice cleaning, manipulating, and presenting data visually.

Each problem focuses on thinking through the solution, not just copying code.

Requirements

• Desktop version of Microsoft Excel

• Ability to save macro-enabled xlsm files

• Power Query (available in Excel 2016 or later, or as an add-on for 2010 or 2013)
