My name is Peter Brooks, I was born into a family of entertainers, teachers, and storytellers. 

When I thought about the purpose of all my grandparents' and parents' work, I realized it was really to help us navigate our emotions. 

Just like you, I had a really tough life - death, divorce, anxiety, suicide, drugs, disease, you name it.  Through it all, I came to realize that theater, art, magic, and education are there to help support us when going through times of distress and experience negative emotions. 

It took me all this time to realize that’s why we create art and religion and rituals!  

Thus, I came up with 4 easy things you can do to build emotional regulation skills that you can deploy just about anywhere. 

Feelings and emotions can be overwhelming. And when they get the best of you, it's not easy to bounce back.

Especially these days.  People feel uncertain about the future and disconnected by technology, disease, economics, and distance.  

But here are four simple things you can do to control and master your emotions rather than let them control you.

IMAGINE, no matter what the tragedy, trauma, loss, or despair -- you will be in control and bounce back from the situation using these techniques.

You see, we all fall into the trap of negative thoughts, especially when these are associated with painful events in our past because they are very STRONG feelings.
