Description

"This course contains the use of artificial intelligence"

Note: This course uses a speaker with AI-generated voice.

Topics: modeling using spline and polygonal techniques and modifiers for furniture and design elements; creating mapping coordinates via unwrapping; creating materials in V-Ray, mental ray, and Iray; and comparing rendering results across V-Ray, mental ray, and Iray.

Multiple exercises using different modeling techniques for the same objects provide a comprehensive overview of available methods.

In this course, we will use the following modeling techniques: basic spline construction, spline outlining and extrusion, symmetry and Edit Poly, creating holes and beveling geometry, using the Shell modifier for thickness, and polygonal extrusions.

Attached to the lessons are 3ds Max 2016 exercise files configured for the mental ray render engine (compatible up to 3ds Max 2017), as well as 3ds Max 2016 and 2017 exercise files configured for the V-Ray render engine.

Note: The exercise files are attached to the lesson "3dsmax_002_Basic Spline Construction"

Updates: Exercise files for 3ds Max 2020 configured for V-Ray have been added.

Your instructor: Marcello Pattarin: A graduate of the Brera Academy of Fine Arts and the School of Applied Arts at Milan's Castello Sforzesco, and an alumnus of the Primo Art High School in Milan, he specializes in advertising and architectural illustration. He focuses on creating video courses for 3ds Max and 3D content, and serves as a beta tester for 3ds Max and NVIDIA Iray. With twenty years of experience in modeling, rendering, animation, and VFX software, he pioneered the creation of Italian video courses dedicated to rendering and related workflows; his library now comprises over 5,000 video lessons distributed across major international 3D graphics websites.
