Sit back and enjoy watching a preview of the dance choreography that you will be learning in this course. You could add your own personality and style into it after you've mastered the dance.
Before you start dancing to a song, it's good to know what is the meaning of the song to make sure that we express the song correctly. Thus, here is the English translated version of the lyrics for you to feel and get intimate with the song and dance.
Before we start dancing, it's good to get to know the finger cymbal patterns that are used in the dance. Take time to familiarize yourself with the rhythms created by the cymbals and how they sound and add flavour to the music.
You can start by setting the video speed slower at the player to follow the video slowly, before going back to its original speed. This may take time, but, you'll reap the benefits when you really start dancing with it, later.
Let's start with the entrance of the dance. No cymbals are used here. Just feel the music, smile and set the mood for your audience. =)
Now, let's work on the 1st verse of the song. We will first practice the steps with 80% of the music speed. Once, you've familiarize yourself with the steps and the cymbals, attempt the 100% original speed.
Let's move on to the 2nd verse of the song. Again, practice the steps with 80% speed before moving on to 100%.
Moving on to the first part of the Chorus, which I labelled as Chorus A in the lyrics and also here at the video. Chorus A will be repeated later on in the music, but, the steps will be different, which I'm labelling it as Chorus A*. Anyway, let's work on Chorus A first.
Check out the 2nd part of the chorus at Chorus B. The steps here will be repeated later at Chorus B*, however, it'll be done on the opposite sides, which will be shown later at Chorus B*. So, let's work on Chorus B first.
We have reached the instrumental part of the music. Let's work on the 1st part of this section before proceeding to the 2nd part. The cymbals in this section may be a little bit challenging for beginners. But, with enough practice, you'll be able to grasp it in the end. So, don't give up!
Without wasting anymore time, let's move on to the 2nd part of the instrumental section of the music. The cymbals here are pretty simple only appearing at the end of the section.
Over at the bridge section of the music, I've decided to keep the dance quiet without the cymbals. Just enjoy the beautiful music and absorb into the dance.
We're back into the chorus for the 2nd time, but, we're going to have different steps here as the music sets into a slight different mood.
Chorus B* is very similar to Chorus B we've learned earlier. It started with a slight different steps and ended up with exactly the same steps as Chorus B, but done on the opposite side. Cymbal patterns are exactly the same as Chorus B.
Yes! We've reached the end of the dance. Feel free to change the ending pose to your own liking. =)
Let's practice the full dance with 80% of its original speed. Repeat as many times as needed to familiarize your dance steps with the cymbals, only then, attempt the dance in its original speed.
Once you're ready, try dance to this!
