If lockdown were to end tomorrow, what is the one thing you'd like to make if you had a magic lamp?
It's now possible, to dream, ideate & prototype designs we have always wished for. Design Thinking helps us to evaluate the possibilities of making anything from scratch, in our case, "Jewelry pendants" for this course. An overview of the softwares that can help us model these prototypes has been discussed.
Also, what is 3D printing & how is it making our life easier?
Being able to make something from very simple to super complex, Additive Manufacturing is helping us re-imagine the world in a whole new dimension, "Digital Design & Manufacturing."

Learn AutoDesk Fusion360 to make simple 3D prototypes on any topic. This is a very intuitive software allowing you to use a wide range of options, from Designing, Rendering to Animation, CNC Manufacturing & much more.
You will gain an understanding on the following topics:
2D Modeling using Sketch Tools like Line, Rectangle, Arc, Dimensioning & Putting numbers.
Constraints to freeze a design & closing the Sketch.
Browse from a wide range of existing Designs.
Convert & Import the acceptable file type(SVG).

Get familiar using Fusion360 for giving dimensions, adding extra features.

Learn Ultimaker Cura to slice the 3D model file into layers for the ease of 3D Printing.
Ultimaker Cura is a free software, compatible with Windows or Mac used for simulating & Analyzing Designs before 3D printing them.
You can save the settings as per your 3D Printer requirements.
Learn to Scale, Move, Speed Up or Slow Down the Printing time.
Every Material has a specific Melting Temperature, Adhesion properties & Recommended settings for usage. We are using settings compatible with the biodegradable filament, PLA(Poly Lactic Acid).
Learn how to Simulate the printing process in real time.

We are using Creality Ender3 Pro for printing our Butterfly jewelry pendant.
The material used is PLA(Poly Lactic Acid, corn-based) biodegradable filament for making this beautiful pendant.

Description

The Art of Making customizable & eco-friendly "Jewelry" using Innovation & Design Thinking & making it using "3D Printing" technology aka Additive Manufacturing. Not only will you be able to create your own 3D Designs, but also print them exactly the same way they were designed, in biodegradable polymer. You can start your own line of making Jewelry pendants after thorough practice on the softwares & hardware introduced, in the course.

We believe that the knowledge of 3D Design & Printing is an important skillset to enable micro-entrepreneurship & workforce development in the AM industry. This is a 21st century skillset that allows you to make Anything Anytime Anywhere & also automate the process in the long run, for example, you will have a digital library of Designs, that you can 3D Print anytime you like, once you have designed them.

You will also learn accurate Designing, using the most professional softwares & the ease of using them, real-world applications, at all age levels.We also introduce you to a new set of materials that are environmental friendly & recyclable.
