Master Wang (Buddhist name Shi Xing Long) is a 32nd generation Shaolin master. He started his training at age 12 in the world famous Shaolin Temple in Henan province, central China, training traditional Shaolin martial arts under respected elder master Shi De Qian.
After five years, he left the temple and moved to the city of Dengfeng to train at the International Shaolin Sanda Academy, a school specialising in Shaolin sport fighting (Sanda). He became a professional Sanda fighter and began entering competitions all over the country, winning the famous "Kung Fu King" contest and becoming Chinese national champion.
In 2003, he suffered a major back injury and had to retire from fighting; instead, he began teaching and has spent the past 20 years training students from around the world, producing several Wushu gold medalists and Kung Fu masters. He is ranked as 7th Duan (the equivalent of 7th degree black belt) in Shaolin Kung Fu under the International Wushu Association, and 6th Duan under the Chinese Wushu Association, and is also recognised by the Chinese government as an official cultural inheritor of Tai Chi.
Since the outbreak of Covid prevented international students from coming to train with him directly in China, Master Wang has started teaching his skillset online, promoting classic Shaolin skills and the many benefits of Tai Chi training through video courses. He aims to spread the knowledge and wisdom he gained during his years at the Shaolin Temple and over three decades of training and research around the globe.
