In this video, we will talk about why scrum, why right now, and why you should do it too…
It doesn’t matter if you want to move away from your current career that's not so comfortable, stressed, boring, not-fulfilling or you want to move towards a better future, or you want to do a little bit of both, you will need to get new skills and new capabilities.
If you are willing to commit to this, then a Scrum might be your way out, and you should do it.
Explore the Scrum Guide 2020 changes that make Scrum leaner and more accessible. Learn about commitments like product goal, sprint goal, and the shift to developers and self-managing teams.
Some students asked me to recommend Scrum books.
So, I don't want to overwhelm you with too many books.
Here is just one Scrum Book review.
I started with this book, and I learned WHAT AND WHY.
This course will be your HOW.
So if it's possible, get this book, read it and then continue with the course. Of course, you can continue without it...
Agile is an innovation-friendly approach to product development. But the question is why might you want to learn about this? Well, for example, software development is pretty complex. There's a bunch of great technology out there and there's a lot of great software being produced but there's also a lot of waste.
The key difference between Agile and Scrum is that while Agile is a project management philosophy that utilizes a core set of values or principles, Scrum is a specific Agile methodology that is used to facilitate a project.
On the surface, it is easy to see why Agile and Scrum can often be confused, as they both rely on an iterative process, frequent interaction, and collaborative decision making. The key difference between Agile and Scrum is ...
Agile allows teams to deliver a prototype and improve it with every cycle. Agile supports regular and collaborative troubleshooting. Agile helps teams and individuals effectively prioritize features and work in general. Teams can make quick-course corrections based on stakeholder feedback.
Now let's see 7 reasons why Agile is different...
With all these Agile myths debunked, I hope that you may reconsider your attitude towards Agile. Or, if you are already doing Agile, but I just showed you some of the cracks in your organization – you will take action and embrace the change.
So let's start with these 13 myths...
It’s been 25 years since the launch of the Scrum Guide. With contributions from the Scrum community, Dr. Jeff Sutherland and Ken Schwaber have made updates to make it crisper, leaner, easier to access, more straightforward, and more transparent, opening the door to more practitioners in new industries and domains.
Now, let’s walk through the list of the majority of changed elements...
A product is an item offered for sale. A product can be a service or physical or in a virtual or digital form. Now, let's see what defines the value of good products?
The 2020 Scrum Guide introduces the concept of a Product Goal to provide a focus for the Scrum Team toward a larger valuable objective or in other words to make sure that we keep our eyes on the prize.
Each Sprint should bring the product closer to the overall Product Goal.
Well, let's have a look at the brand new shiny edition of Scrum Guide 2020 to find out...
You can think of a product vision as the mission statement for your product. It's a long-term goal that answers the Question: In X years, what do you want your product to be? When crafting your product vision, make sure it's a stretch, but still realistic.
Product strategy is about imagining the future of your Product: What Product will it become? Who will it benefit? How will it create value?
A product roadmap is a shared source of truth that outlines the vision, direction, priorities, and progress of a product over time. It's a plan of action that aligns the organization around short and long-term goals for the product and how they will be achieved.
In short, we can learn and improve upon past mistakes and experiences. The three pillars of Scrum that uphold every implementation of empirical process control are Transparency, Inspection, and Adaptation.
Challenges and examples of Empiricism
Scrum encourages teams to learn through experiences, self-organize while working on a problem, and reflect on their wins and losses to improve continuously. While software development teams most frequently use Scrum, its principles and lessons can be used for all kinds of NOT IT-related teamwork.
A Scrum Team is a collection of individuals (typically between five and nine members) working together to deliver the required product increments. The Scrum framework encourages a high level of communication among team members so that the Team can follow a common goal and adhere to the same norms and rules.
As a Product Owner, you are responsible for Product Backlog Management to maximize the value of the product. It's a one-person role, not a committee that brings the customer perspective of the product to a Scrum Team. He is the one who takes care of the product throughout the product life cycle. So as long as there is a product - there is a Product Owner (as opposed to traditional project management).
Scrum Master is an expert on Scrum and agility and is a champion of process improvement. He helps teams to apply Scrum, to work and train the team on the agile process, velocity, quality, impediment removal, etc.
Many Scrum Masters fill their entire week with the facilitation of Scrum events for their various Scrum Teams and nothing more.
(NEW) Changes for the Scrum Masters in relation to Scrum Guide 2020, emphasize what it is that Scrum Masters should be spending their time on.
Developers in Scrum do the work of turning business goals into value by delivering a potentially releasable Increment of "Done" product at the end of each Sprint.
A stakeholder is a party that has an interest in a company and can either affect or be affected by the business. The primary stakeholders in a typical corporation are its investors, employees, customers, and suppliers.
The Scrum events are time-boxed events. That means, in a project, every scrum event has a predefined maximum duration. These events enable transparency on the project's progress to all who are involved in the project.
Scrum Sprint is a repeatable fixed time-box of one month or less during which a "Done," useable, and potentially releasable product Increment is created.
The Sprint Goal helps the Scrum team to focus on the Sprint. That is the Goal that the Team will achieve within the Sprint through the implementation of the forecasted Product Backlog items. Sprint's goal also guides the Development Team on why it is building the Product Increment.
What Happens in a Sprint Planning? Who attends Sprint Planning? How long should Sprint Planning Last?
What Happens in a Daily Scrum? Who Attends the Daily Scrum? How long should Daily Scrum Last?
What Happens in a Sprint Review? Who Attends a Sprint Review? How Long Should Sprint Reviews Last? What is Important to remember...
What Happens in a Sprint Retrospective? What Is the Difference between Sprint Reviews & Sprint Retrospectives? Who Should Attend a Sprint Retrospective? How Long Should Sprint Retrospectives Last?
Continually refining and restructuring your product backlog reflects changes in shifting priorities, including customer requests and process optimization, and is a vital technique to deliver a valuable product to customers and users successfully.
Introduction to release management. Every release is a gift. You are delivering something new to people who need what you have built. Product managers are ...
Introduction to The Theme, Epics, User Stories, and Tasks
Theme groups together separate epics and stories that fall under the same category.
An Epic is a big chunk of Work that has one common objective. It could be a feature, customer request, or business requirement. Key attributes and Examples.
User stories are short, simple descriptions of a feature told from the perspective of the person who desires the new capability, usually a user or customer of the system. Key attributes, examples and technique for time estimation.
User-story mapping (also known as user-story maps, story maps, and story mapping) is a lean UX-mapping method, often practiced by Agile teams, that uses sticky notes and sketches to outline the interactions that the team expects users to go through to complete their goals in a digital product.
We use Tasks to break down user stories even further. Tasks are the smallest unit of Work. Example of User story decomposition into tasks and Examples of Tasks.
Scrum Artifacts are information radiators, and they serve to capture the shared understanding of the Team at a particular point in time.
Scrum Artifacts play a vital role in the Team reflecting on how they are doing with the sprint goal. The development team use artifacts to maximize the transparency of essential information so that everybody has the same understanding of the artifact.
A product backlog is a list of all the things that the Team needs to create for that product. It is a dynamic and best-understood requirement for any changes to the product.
The Sprint Backlog is the set of Product Backlog items (Tasks) selected for the Sprint plus a plan for delivering the product Increment and realizing the Sprint Goal. Sprint Backlog Example...
A Scrum Board is a tool that helps Teams make Sprint Backlog items visible. The board can take many physical and virtual forms. You will see a DEMO of one of these free tools you can use.
The Increment is the sum of all the Product Backlog items completed during a Sprint and the value of the increments of all previous Sprints.
A burndown chart is a graphic representation of how quickly the team is working through a customer's user stories, an agile tool that is used to capture a description of a feature from an end-user perspective. The burndown chart shows the total effort against the amount of work for each iteration.
The product owner could work together with the team to define an artifact called “the definition of Ready” for ensuring that items at the top of the backlog are ready to be moved into a sprint so that the development team can confidently commit and complete them by the end of a sprint. Definition of Ready.
The Definition of Done is an agreed-upon list of the activities necessary to get a product increment to a done state by the end of a sprint.
Acceptance criteria are a set of predefined requirements to mark a user story complete.
Students will get the knowledge about EBM and how it strengthens decision-making and practice in business and organization and how to appraise evidence quality before applying it to support decisions and actions and also how to use evidence and their position to improve on their learning experience.
Evidence-based management reduces errors in judgment. Evidence-based management is driven by science and data. Evidence-based management increases accountability. Common mistakes when taking an evidence-based management approach.

How long does it take to complete the course?
The course has 11 hours of video content. Most students complete it in 2 to 4 weeks learning 30 to 60 minutes per day. However, you have lifetime access. Will this help me pass the PSM I or PSPO certification exam?
Absolutely. This course provides complete preparation aligned with official Scrum org certification requirements. You'll master every concept tested on the PSM I and PSPO exams. You'll also learn proven test-taking strategies. While we can't guarantee pass rates (no one can - Scrum org policy), thousands of students have successfully passed their certifications after completing this course.

Excellent question. While free content exists, it's scattered, incomplete, and lacks structure. Here's what you get with this course that free content can't provide:
This Course vs Free YouTube Videos:
This Course: Structured 11-hour program covering every Scrum concept Free YouTube: Scattered, incomplete coverage
This Course: Step-by-step learning from beginner to advanced Free YouTube: Random difficulty levels
This Course: Certification exam preparation Free YouTube: No exam focus

What if I already know some Agile and Scrum basics?
Great! The course is structured so you can skip sections you're already comfortable with. Focus on areas where you need more knowledge. Many experienced Scrum Masters take this course specifically for:
Formal certification preparation
Mastering the Product Owner view (if they're currently Scrum Masters)
Learning advanced meeting techniques
Staying current with 2020 Scrum Guide updates
Filling knowledge gaps from self-taught learning
One reviewer specifically noted: "It was very informative even for experienced SMs. I could learn a great deal of new things from it."
Can I do this while working full-time?
Absolutely. This course is specifically designed for working professionals. With lifetime access and self-paced learning, you can:
Study 30 minutes during lunch breaks

Will this course help me get a job?
This course provides the knowledge, certification preparation, and career strategies you need to compete for Scrum Master and Product Owner roles. Specifically, you'll get:
Deep Scrum and Agile skills that 70% of companies now require
Certification preparation for PSM I and PSPO credentials
Interview preparation for the 15 most common Scrum questions
Resume improvement strategies to get past screening systems
Salary negotiation tactics to earn top offers
However, landing a job also requires:
Networking and applying to positions
Tailoring your resume to specific opportunities
Practicing interviewing skills
Gaining hands-on experience (volunteer for Agile projects at your current company)
This course dramatically increases your competitiveness. But job hunting requires your active effort. Many students report landing Scrum roles within 60 to 90 days of completing the course and getting certified.
Do I need any technical background or programming knowledge?
No. While Scrum is often used in software development, the framework applies to any complex project. This course teaches Scrum principles that work across industries:
Software development
Marketing campaigns
Product launches
Construction projects
Event planning
Business changes
You don't need to code or understand technical words. If you can manage projects and lead teams, you can master Agile and Scrum.
How current is this course? Will it be outdated soon?
Constantly updated. The course already includes the latest Scrum Guide updates (the most recent official revision). Plus, you get lifetime access to all future updates as Agile practices and the Scrum Guide change.
Scrum's core principles stay remarkably stable. The framework itself has existed since the 1990s. What changes are details and organizational best practices. This course covers these completely.
You're not just buying today's content. You're investing in a learning resource that will serve your entire career.
Why should I get certified? Isn't experience enough?
In a perfect world, yes. But we don't live in a perfect world. We live in a world where:
Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) filter out resumes without certification keywords
Hiring managers use certifications as quick credibility filters when reviewing 200+ applications
HR departments require certifications as minimum qualifications for role eligibility
Salary negotiations favor certified professionals (30 to 40% premium according to industry data)
The truth: You might be the most experienced Agile worker in your city. But if you're not certified, you'll lose opportunities to less-experienced certified candidates.
Certification doesn't replace experience. It validates it. It's the credential that gets you in the door so you can show your skills.
What's the difference between PSM I and PSPO certifications?
PSM I (Professional Scrum Master I):
Focuses on the Scrum Master role specifically
Tests facilitation, coaching, and servant leadership
$200 exam fee
60-minute, 80-question exam
85% passing score required
Shows mastery of Scrum framework from Scrum Master view
PSPO I (Professional Scrum Product Owner I):
Focuses on the Product Owner role specifically
Tests value maximization, backlog management, and stakeholder engagement
$200 exam fee
60-minute, 80-question exam
85% passing score required
Shows mastery of Scrum framework from Product Owner view
This course prepares you for BOTH. While you'll pay exam fees separately when you're ready, you can study for both certifications with the same complete course content.
Pro tip: Many professionals get both certifications to maximize career flexibility and show complete Scrum skills.
Why Now? The Case for Getting Agile-Certified in 2025/26
Market Reality: Agile Use Is Growing Fast
70% of Fortune 500 companies have adopted Agile frameworks (and growing)
Agile adoption increased 340% since 2020 across all industries
Traditional PM roles declining 40% as organizations move to Agile
LinkedIn identifies Scrum Master among "Most Promising Jobs" for 2024-2025
Scrum Master roles growing 3 times faster than traditional project management positions
Translation: The job market is changing fast. Every month you wait is another month your competitors are getting certified and landing the jobs you want.
Financial Reality: Certified Professionals Earn Much More

Tens of thousands are applying for Scrum Master and Product Owner roles
The question isn't whether you'll eventually need Agile skills. It's whether you'll position yourself now or play catch-up later.
Companies aren't waiting for you to decide. They're hiring certified Agile professionals today. Will you be ready when your perfect opportunity appears? Or will you watch someone else get the job because they took action sooner?
Certification Reality: The PSM I Exam Costs $200
Here's what most people don't realize: You can't skip the preparation.
Option 1: Pay $200 for the exam unprepared, fail, pay another $200 to retake, fail again, pay $200 again (now you're $600 in the hole with no certification)
Option 2: Invest in complete preparation first, pass on first attempt, save money and time while building deep skills
Which sounds smarter?
This course costs a fraction of a single failed exam. Yet it provides complete preparation that dramatically increases your first-attempt pass rate. It's not an expense. It's insurance against wasting $200+ on failed exam attempts.
Personal Reality: You'll Never Have More Time Than You Think
Be honest: If you don't start now, when will you?
"I'll do it when work slows down" - Work never slows down
"I'll wait until after the holidays" - There's always another holiday
"I'll start when I have more free time" - You never will
The perfect time doesn't exist. But lifetime access to this course means you can start today and learn at whatever speed fits your life. Even if you only study 20 minutes per day, you'll finish in a few weeks.
Twenty minutes per day for a few weeks equals a certification and skill set that changes your earning potential for decades.
Start today. Your future self will thank you.
