Description
Although my MBA helped me land a job at IBM, most of it was a waste of time as a professional healthcare entrepreneur. Even worse, what I needed to know wasn't taught. I've been a chiropractor since 1985. This course is all the information I wish I knew when I started. However, I find few students are ready for the material. Most need to fail first, then they see the importance of business knowledge and taking action.

Helping Entrepreneurs Succeed
I struggled with my chiropractic business, when I started in 1985. I had an MBA and had worked at IBM for three years before going back to chiropractic college. I thought I knew everything I needed to know to be successful in business. Was I wrong.
Although some of what I learned in the MBA program was helpful, and certainly helped me land a job at IBM, much of it was irrelevant to being an entrepreneur. Worse was that so much that I needed to know wasn't covered. Eventually, I hired coaches and learned what I needed to know. After a few years, I had grown to the point where I hired an associate doctor.
I began teaching while in chiropractic college. I taught clinical laboratory methods to chiropractic technicians. After graduating, I was a lecturer at Western Washington University for three quarters. I love teaching.
In 2002, I took the coursework to become a real estate agent. I couldn't believe how ignorant I had been about real estate. Although we had bought a home in 1994, I thought it would be a poor investment. My wife wanted a house. Once I recognized the truth about real estate, I wrote From Paint Rags to Riches - Becoming a Real Estate Millionaire. We netted about $100,000 on that first home. Now we have added hundreds of thousands of dollars to our net worth and have only owned three homes. Our children have added hundreds of thousands of dollars to their net worth. Our second oldest son is a general contractor.
I began teaching continuing education online to chiropractors in 2004. I formed Affolter Academy, LLC in 2016, intending to create my own platform. However, after following changing technologies for years, I'm now using Udemy to provide the courses.
My course. 20-20 Business Education for Healthcare Entrepreneurs is designed to teach what I wish I had known when I started practice in 1984 and do it quickly. Now you can spend 20 minutes/day for 20 days and know the basics of all the major fields of business. I've updated the courses to include modern technology and what I've learned from my marketing research. I also include my course in Mental Mastery. Napoleon Hill, author of Think and Grow Rich, said that we are closest to our Creator when we are controlling our minds. It was decades before I had two epiphanies that gave me the philosophy and science behind that statement. I've included it all in this course.
Although I'm maintaining both my chiropractic and real estate licenses, I retired from chiropractic practice in 2022. I'm now focused on teaching, coaching and consulting. I look forward to helping you create a vision of your ideal life and then making that vision your reality.
