The Master of the universe commanded Adam, the first man, on the day of his creation, as it says (Gen 2:16), “And the L-rd G-d commanded ‘the man’ (Adam) …” G-d commanded seven precepts to Adam:
1. Believe and trust in the One G-d Do not worship idols
2. Respect G-d and praise Him Do not blaspheme G-d's Name
3. Respect the sanctity of human Life - Do not commit murder or injury
4. G-d defined marriage Respect the Family Do not have forbidden relations
5. Respect the property of other people - Do not commit theft
6. Respect living creatures and avoid cruelty -Do not eat meat taken from a still-living animal
7. Establish Courts of Law - Justice is the foundation of peace
These seven precepts are called the Seven Commandments for the Noahides or Bnei Noah (“Children of Noah,” i.e. Gentiles, who are non-Jews).
Noahides earn eternal spiritual reward by accepting upon themselves to fulfill the Seven Noahide Commandments and being careful in their observance, specifically because the Holy One, blessed be He, commanded them in the Torah, and informed us through Moses our teacher that Noah's descendants had been previously commanded to fulfill them.
