This is an introduction lesson that give you an idea on what we’ll be doing later. You’ll learn about the structure of the course “Russian in 1 month with Natalia Kardash”. In this first video I’ll share with you some tips on how to facilitate learning Russian language. How to learn 10 words a day? How to remember all new words? What are the common mistakes that students do while starting to learn Russian?
First words. First reading exercises. For those who speak Greek it is easy to start reading Russian. This course was created for Cypriot business people, that is why our reading exercises will start with letters that are common for Greek and Russian. But it does not mean that people of other nationalities can not learn fast. Our aim is to read simple Russian words even now, at our first reading lesson. Please download an electronic version of my book that contains reading exercises, all words we’ll learn during the course and the texts of the songs that we’ll listen to. Please email me, send a request to nk@vkcyprus.com – I’ll send you a pdf copy of the book we need for these lessons.
Why do we need to listen to songs? We’ll make our first Russian sentences using the words we’ll hear in your first song. Please follow the link to listen to the song we have in our lesson: https://youtu.be/SJJKYmQjVnA
We’ll focus on reading and learning next 10 words. But there is a short “Geography lesson” in today’s video – you’ll know few facts on the country and you’ll understand how Russia is divided into regions and where these regions are on the map.
We’ll repeat 20 words that we know and prepare ourselves to watch together the first part of a Russian movie that I’ll introduce you during the course. This is a story about Russian cosmonaut, first person who was sent to space – Yury Gagarin. We’ll watch together first few minutes.
More words, first grammar rules and our first sentences. During this lesson we’ll learn more on Russian names and patronymics, difference between literary and spoken language.
We have to learn one song by heart and know more on memorizing new foreign words. How our memory works, who to help it to “digest” more words? During this lesson we’ll focus on reading. You’ll also know more on the island where I live – Cyprus. We’ll know the words that are useful to describe it and pronounce all Cyprus towns in Russian.
Time to learn by heart another song in Russian. Why do we listen to songs, how they help us to learn the language? Having this song as an example, we’ll observe few grammar rules.
New words to learn, new words to read, and bit of geography – this is the content of the lesson number nine. Where is gold in Russia? Why Lake Baikal is important for the Planet Earth? How big is it, what unusual facts do we know about this lake?
Our aim is to summarize everything we learnt during 10 days, we have to repeat all new words, read a bit and make new sentences from the words we know. Please watch a short video on the history of Russia mentioned in this lesson: https://youtu.be/XEigTcunXIQ
