  • This tutorial shows you how to create landing pages using the email collection service, ConvertKit.
  • In order to complete all of the steps outlined in the tutorial, you will need to purchase a ConvertKit subscription.
  • However, it's not necessary to purchase a ConvertKit account in order to take this course. I cover additional marketing principles and show you how to create a lead magnet using a free tool called Canva.
  • If you don't have an email collection service or would like to get a better idea of some of the things that you can do inside of ConvertKit, then there is no need to purchase a subscription to ConvertKit before watching the course.

Growing an email list of people who are interested in what you are creating before you launch it is a great way to validate your idea and make sure that people are interested in the product you are creating. 

When I wrote my first book, I didn't have an email list, which means I didn't have anyone to promote the book to on launch day :( 

But, once I started growing an email list, my book sales picked up and continued grow! 

Many people, myself included, believe that you need a website in order to start growing an email list. But websites can be expensive and time consuming to create, especially if you are just getting started. 

Luckily, I found a way to create simple landing pages using ConvertKit that DON'T REQUIRE you to have a website in order to start growing your email list. 

That's exactly what I cover in this tutorial. 

In this tutorial I show you:

  • how to create an opt-in offer or "lead magnet" that is targeted at your ideal customer, 
  • how to upload and host your lead magnet, and 
  • how to create a high converting landing page using ConvertKit that delivers your lead magnet to your subscribers automatically as soon as they sign up.

AND, I'll show you how to get the link to your ConvertKit hosted landing page so that you can start promoting it without having to create a website first.

Before we set up your ConvertKit landing page, you'll need an opt-in offer or "lead magnet." This is just something that you create to give away for free in exchange for someone's email address. In this video I'll give you some simple options for lead magnets that you can create quickly and easily. I'll also tell you which lead magnets have worked the best for me and which have not.

In this video, I'll show you how to design a beautiful PDF that you can use as your lead magnet using one of my favorite tools called Canva. Now, even though Canva does offer some premium design elements, they have plenty of free elements and design tools to choose from.

Once you've created and designed your opt-in offer or lead magnet, you'll need somewhere to host it. In this video I show you how to upload your lead magnet file to Google Drive and get a shareable link that you can use with your ConvertKit landing page. When you enter this shareable link into your ConvertKit landing page settings, you'll be able to automate the delivery of your lead magnet to all of your new email subscribers.

Integrating Your Lead Magnet with Your Landing Page

Know that your lead magnet and landing page are created, it's time to automate the delivery process. In this video you'll learn how to adjust the settings within ConvertKit so that your lead magnet will be automatically delivered to your subscriber once they sign up on your landing page. 


In this lesson I show you two different methods for automating the delivery of your opt-in offer. I'll show you how to use a single opt-in method where your subscriber will be redirected to your lead magnet as soon as they enter their email address. 


I'll also show you how to set up automatic delivery using the "double opt-in method" (which is the recommended method for ethically adding subscribers to your email list.) With a double opt-in method, your subscriber will receive an email instructing them to "confirm their email address" before they receive your lead magnet. 


I show you step-by-step processes for setting this up in this video.
