Section 1: A big welcome! Let me introduce myself and the work we're going to do together.
02:29

Hey, I'm Mar - here's a little bit about me!

01:29

Let's go through what I'm going to be teaching you in the course.

03:48

Video creation has EXPLODED over the last few years, and understandably so - it's an incredibly powerful and effective tool for helping you to reach your people; your customers, clients, students, followers.

01:36

Three questions I want you to ask yourself before you start. This is an exercise to help you focus and keep you motivated as you set off on this journey of learning!

Section 1 - Recap
2 pages
Section 2: Great Presenting
02:54

At the root of all meaningful connection in life, is authenticity. You are speaking to your audience through a lens, so they see you and get a strong sense of you. In order to really engage with the, on a purposeful level, you've gotta be willing to be real - to be authentic, and to be you. That's how connection happens!

02:06

Presenting is a skill, and all great presenters share certain traits. We'll go through some of these so you can start to identify them and work on bringing them into your own presenting.

Presenting, while sometimes a natural talent, is a skill that you can learn and master!

02:36

"Know your audience"! Simple but powerful advice. Knowing who your audience is absolutely crucial - everything you say, the way you say it, the language you use and the message you present should be constructed with your audience in mind. That's how they will feel as though you're speaking directly to the, and that's what will help you connect.

01:24

Hey listen, there' no pressure! When you think about it, it's just you and a piece of equipment, right?!

Section 2 - Recap
3 pages
Section 3: Manage your mental state and prepare for success
06:28

Learn one of the golden rules of great presenting, getting out of your head and getting out of your own way.

11:23

This section is where we start to dig deeper into the 'head stuff'. We'll start to look at the mental obstacle that are tripping you up, and you'll get practical tools that will help you get over them.

06:06

Staying up in the head, we'll go through the powerful technique of visualisation, helping to prepare you mentally for success on camera.

06:42

Mindfulness is a powerful tool to help quiet the mind and reduce anxiety. I'll take you through techniques that you can use when recording on camera, to help keep you calm, confident and in control.

Section 3 - Recap
5 pages
Section 4: Present like a pro!
04:21

How am I supposed to talk to a piece of equipment like it's a person?!! I get it - speaking to camera is more than a little bit unnatural. There are ways around that though, I promise!

02:28

Once you put you're recording out into the world, it's out there - right?! So let's make sure you are bringing the best you can at the the time of recording. Whatever energy you bring at the time you record, is what's going out there forevermore, so it's worthwhile getting it right!

08:03

Your voice is an instrument, so learn to play it! How you use your voice can have a massive impact on how your audience perceives you and how well you engage with them. In this section, we'll identify some of the not-so-great vocal habits many of us unconsciously use, as well as identifying some of the good ones you can start to bring into your speech.

03:56

You’ve heard the phrase ‘the eyes are the window to the soul’, right?! Lot of truth in those words! We express so much though our eyes, whether or not we’re even aware of it.

Your audience is picking up on every signal you’re sending, to get a sense of you, who you are, if they like you and if they can believe you. You may be saying one thing with your mouth, and telling a whole other story with your eyes! In this section, we’re looking at how we can bring awareness to our eyes, and use them to create a more meaningful connection with our audience.

10:50
Your body language is powerful messenger, telling your audience a lot about how you’re feeling and what degree of confidence within yourself. Let’s make sure your body is speaking the right kind of language!
Section 4 - Recap
5 pages
Section 5: Preparing for success
01:23
Presenting on camera is an incredibly demanding activity; having to be ‘on’ can be quite draining, so being in the best possible physical state will give you the best possible shot at success.
Presenting on Purpose
01:21
02:45
I am deffffinitely not a fashion expert, far from it! But I do know a thing or two about being on camera. And I do know that what you wear affects how you feel, so it’s worth your while thinking about what to wear when you’re recording.
04:20
To script or not to script – there are pros and cons to each scenario, and what works for one presenter might not for another. Let me share with you my preferred technique, and one I think should help you find the balance between structure and flow.
01:38

The better you know your stuff, the less you have to think about it, and the more relaxed you’ll feel. Relaxed on screen = confidence = engaged audience! Simple, eh!

02:08

Practice, practice, practice, practice, practice. Oh and some more practice! You know those presenters who make it look so easy? I promise you, they practiced. A lot. You don't get better by standing in front of the mirror, you get better by putting yourself in the hot seat and turning that camera on yourself at e-v-e-r-y single chance you get, again and again and again.

Practice. It really does make perfect ;)

You rock!
