This course is designed for women who have serious badass potential. Over the course of a few weeks and through the completion of periodic missions, Olive and Minna - communication coaches based in NYC - will guide you through the ABC's of cultivating confidence. We use theoretical and technical approaches. We review concepts of communication from a sociological perspective and address the conditioning that has disempowered too many women. We offer strategies and assign missions to improve your body language, inner dialogue, and overall presence. We will explore the body, posture, breath, and the voice - guiding you through self-inquiry and investigation of body language, tone, gaze, and vocal presence. You will have a holistic, 360 degree, inside-and-out understanding of what's holding you back and how to move beyond that fear to become the fullest expression of your badass self
What is a badass? We will go into detail in the course, but briefly it is the woman who owns her value, demonstrates her value, and gains respect from those around her through action, intention, and communication. She can be delicate, generous, playful, passionate, steadfast. She is confident.
Are you these things? Do you give yourself permission to display these qualities? Does fear or conditioning inhibit your authentic expression of self? If the answer is yes, then this course is for you.
This video will introduce you to the overall objective of this course, which is how to cultivate an internal essence of confidence and power along with tools on how to communicate that essence to the outside world. We will also point you toward our Facebook community - @BadassWomen'sSociety
This video explores the concept of internal dialogue and how the effects of language as identity can undermine our inherent Badassary (yes, that's a word). The video will introduce the challenge for the week, which will be in service of gaining knowledge of what language is attached to us. This challenge will define a baseline for where you are as you begin the course, so you will be better equipped to identify growth at the end.
This video examines the concept of body language. We will explore the communication of various standing postures. Our physicality communicates a lot about us. Make sure what you're communicating through your posture is in line with how you want to be perceived.
This video continues exploring body language and posture communication. We will expand on the topic through examining seated posture communication. We will then walk you through postures that help you take up more space, own your power, and build the body language of a badass.
In this video we will briefly review the previous concepts explored in this section along with outline the MISSION for the week! We will then of course direct you back to the Facebook group - @BadassWomen'sSociety #MinnaAndOliveChallenge
This video will explore the concept of FEAR and how it inhibits us in manifesting our most badass existence. We ask you to confront your fears, list them, acknowledge them, and overcome them. We will outline a 3 part mission to help you overcome your fears and of course implore you to share in the Facebook group.
This video will introduce the topic of eye contact, which is an natural extension of the previous section exploring body language. The bulk of this video will center around the level of your gaze in relation to your physical posture. Don't worry, we will give you a clear exercise to experience what that means and how it can impact your presence and point of view.
This video looks at two different forms of ineffective eye contact or eye contact that are confronting in a way which inhibits authentic connection.
The mission for the week is a two part mission - developing self awareness and exploring new habits of eye contact and connection. Share your experience on Facebook!
This video outlines the primitive impulse to procreate and how that translates as permission to own your sexual power. We call it "The Fuck Me Factor." We will challenge you to shift your mindset to one of "everyone in here wants me" - displaying confidence that you are a desirable sexual being.
This video will speak to the importance of owning your body and establishing clear boundaries, allowing you to authentically convey your true badass self.
In this video we talk about the pervasive shame of asking for what makes you feel comfortable. Women have become accustom to acquiescing to sexual advances. We explore scenarios and offer affirmation that you are empowered to establish your own boundaries and feel steadfast in what feels right to you.
In this video, Olive talks about the way we view our bodies and own our sex appeal. How we view what makes us sexy versus what men think makes a woman sexy, are shockingly different. We will challenge you to engage in two activities that will bring you closer to how you can own your sexiness and get intimate with yourself!
The mission for this lecture is so fun! I won't spoil it. Watch, follow-through, and share your experience on Facebook.
This video examines three types of ineffective vocal production that diminish the status of the speaker. We will talk briefly about vocal fry, "wet noodling", and vocal masking.
This video continues the exploration of vocal production through the explanation of tone and breath. We define what voice is at its essence and how to cultivate a fully dynamic, present mode of vocal production.
Here is your mission for this section! We challenge you to get acquainted with how your voice actually sounds. People "hate" hearing themselves, but it's our voice and we should feel proud and familiar with how we vocalize and what that communicates about us. As always, share with us on Facebook and we will engage in a dialogue about effective vocalization.
What is diminishing language? In this video, we walk you through the various forms of diminishing language. We talk to you about the impact of using such language and tools for how to eliminate diminishing language from your daily communication. It's a habit and it can be undone!
Let's call attention to the language we use! Our mission this week is to begin to recognize the pervasiveness of diminishing language and what impact that has on how you perceive yourself, how you perceive others, and how others perceive you. Just, Sorry, Um ... Buh-Bye!
In this video we encourage you to own your shit to end your shame. We are all human and inherent in that is that we are flawed ...and fabulous! Allow the flaws to be brilliant colors in the rainbow that has created your fabric of being. Celebrate your flaws and end the shame.
In this video we will introduce a mission for ending the shame. We will ask you to work through the shame in three stages: write it down, confess to a confidant, share your experience on Facebook.
This video discusses the process for speaking your truth. We outline what that means, examples of what that may look like, and how you can be transformed by giving yourself permission to express yourself from love, from truth, and from a space of presence.
This video outlines the mission for this section. The mission comes in two stages and the goal is utter liberation!! It will be a challenge, perhaps, to assess your "success" here. We are looking for the daring who try and any step outside of your current communication habit is a success. We will ask you to notice your habit, empower a more effective habit, and share your experience on Facebook.
Congratulations!! You have made it to the end of this Udemy course and we are now going to see how far you have come since beginning your training toward Badassary (yes, that's a word). We will guide you back to you initial assessment and see if the missions along the way have empowered you to define yourself in more authentic, truthful, badass terms. Share your experience on Facebook. With humility and love, we thank you for sharing with us!
