This course is a six week strength and conditioning programme designed specifically for combat sport athletes. Six weeks prior to an event you will perform one strength and one conditioning session per week for a total of twelve individual workouts that aim at developing anaerobic and aerobic fitness. The course is intended for students who plan on competing in a variety of combat sport events including juijitsu, judo, wrestling, kickboxing, boxing, muay thai and mixed martial arts. The energy systems targeted in the programme fit specifically with those used in combat sport.
Each week you will watch one strength and one conditioning video and perform the workout outlined. The corse is designed to be completed in addition to your existing skill work and training for your sport. The workouts will change as we target different energy systems leading into your event. By the end of the six week programme you will be in peak physical condition and able to perform at the best of your ability. You will also have greatly improved your knowledge of physical training and understand the specific requirements for a combat sport athlete leading into an event.
This Video series will demonstrate the conditioning portion of the programme. It will include a step by step process of the most effective way to develop aerobic and anaerobic fitness.
I have been competing as a professional Mixed Martial Artist for the last eight years. During that time I have travelled the world working and learning from some of the best trainers and combat specific strength and conditioning. From the knowledge gained through this first hand experience I apply to my own training as a current and active UFC fighter.
