This course covers geometrical chess motifs such as Blockade, Opening of a file (rank, diagonal), Clearing the space, Damming and X-Ray Attack.
This course really helps to see the whole board and to learn how to make your pieces interact even if they are located on different sides of the board!
We will demonstrate not only the concept of these tactical chess manoeuvres but also the logic behind finding these moves in your own chess games.
This course is broken down into 5 sections (one for each motif). In each section you will find 3-4 tutorials analysing different chess puzzles (the difficulty of the positions analysed in these puzzles increases as you go along).
Also each section contains an analysis of a game played between two chess grandmasters to demonstrate how effective these tactical manoeuvres can be and finally we prepared quizzes for you to practice and the end of each section.
We look forward to seeing you in class!
Mark and Viktor
My name is Mark Eremenko and I am a Civil Engineer working in Australia. In my free time I really enjoy playing and (believe it or not!) studying chess!
I have been playing this game for as long as I can remember. To me Chess is not only about moving pieces, but it's actually much more than that - I like finding hidden strategies and tactical maneuvers that allow you to gain material advantage or simply win the game.
Also, I enjoy analysing games of grand masters such as Michael Tal, Garry Kasparov, Bobby Fischer, and others. I find it incredible how in a game with finite move possibilities they always seem to invent new variations of how to gain an advantage over their opponents and that is just incredible.
I am very passionate about Chess and can't wait to share my passion and knowledge with you!
Let's get playing :)
My name is Viktor Neustroev and I am a trader.
Since 2003 I have been trading financial markets starting with FOREX and then broadening horizons to commodity markets. Trading is all my life, but it really became a passion when I started trading options. Trading financial markets gives people what they really want - financial independence.
I am also a chessplayer and a chess coach for my daughter (you can find my name in FIDE rating list). Why I like financial markets? Because it's like chess, when you know the rules, but you don't need to play against the market. Just follow your plan, again and again!
To sum up, I am here to share my trading experience. I believe that everyone wants to leave a trace in history and I see my mission in teaching and making people's life better.
