Cognitive Behavioral Coaching  is an evidence-based life-coaching approach that is designed to benefit everyone.  Whether you are using the model as a self help application, therapist, mentor, or coach wishing to expand and build on your existing skill sets, this course is for you.

Cognitive Behavioral Coaching is an evidence-based counterpart of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy - The work begun by Dr. Aaron Beck in the 1960's, where short-term, goal-oriented therapy is used to change patterns of thinking and behavior.

CBC is effective for a range of coaching scenarios, as well as for personal development and overall well-being.

These include:

  • Development of happiness
  • Personal growth, life goal issues, performance at work issues
  • Realizing your true potential
  • Decreasing depressive symptoms
  • Various forms of anxiety, especially social anxiety
  • Phobias
  • Panic attacks
  • Problems related to impulse control
  • Problems related to emotional control
  • Anger management
  • Stress management
  • Child behavioral issues
  • Family relationship issues
  • Issues specific to couples

Please note: this is a life-coaching course only.  Taking this course in no way qualifies you as a therapist, psychotherapist, or medical professional.  If you are unsure of the differences between these professions please refer to the lecture devoted to the topic.

Who is the target audience?
  • Anyone seeking a formal Cognitive Behavioural Coaching Certification from the IWCA
  • Those of you who wish to use the evidence-based techniques of the CBC Model as a self help application

All of my online courses are fully accredited with the CPD Standards Agency and offer students the opportunity to gain CPD credits/hours.

I am a Psychotherapist, Counsellor, and Therapeutic Art Practitioner.

I run a very successful practice in Harley Street, London which is recognised the world over as a centre of medical excellence.

I am a highly trained specialist with a wealth of experience, working with people from all walks of life; including referrals from charities I'm involved in, to very high profile clients from all over the world.

As well as my client work, I have had a number of works published and have appeared on TV and radio.

I am also the founder of Renaissance Life Therapies Training Academy, which offers courses in counselling, CBT and other areas of self development.

As an accredited CPD training provider, I have more than 60,000 students, from 181 countries, and have been honoured with a number of awards for my contribution to education.

I also write and lecture in my subject, as well as training other doctors and counsellors in specialist areas of counselling and therapeutic art.

I'm Patrick Howell and I love helping people experience greater wellbeing, happiness and confidence.

I've trained and coached people at a variety of organizations. I've coached executives past roadblocks created by poor communication.  I've taught people in seminars around the country, certifying them in applied positive psychology and neuro-linguistic programming. I also teach workplace engagement curriculum for local community colleges. Personal clients often come to me to work through challenging issues. While together they often discover the art of Narrative Therapy and learn to re-write their life stories.

I am the director of coaching at Internal Change Academy, which provides research assistance and personal development programs to growth-seeking individuals.

After leaving a career with the global Dale Carnegie Training company where I won multiple awards as a trainer, I founded Team Development Group. As the managing director of Team Development Group, I head a team that includes happiness experts, NLP practitioners, and workplace learning trainers that teach public seminars and in corporations.

I am also the co-author of the best-selling field manual The Positive Workplace that was published by the American Society for Training & Development in 2014.

But for me, the best part of my job involves sharing my knowledge of happiness interventions with others.  I love giving people the confidence to live their best-possible lives.
