I grew up with extremely low self esteem and low confidence. I was actually clinically diagnosed with social anxiety and was on antidepressants medication for most of my teens and early twenties.
When I was growing up, social situations were extremely awkward for me.
I would feel uncomfortable around new people and that would cause them to feel uncomfortable around me.
I found myself stuck in a low paying jobs I hated but I didn't believe I could do any better.
I was too shy to ask girls on dates so I spent most of my life alone.
I was afraid of being judged, afraid of confrontation, and constantly worried what everyone was thinking of me, all the time.
Having low confidence held me back in just about every way you can imagine. The worst thing of all though was the feeling of being uncomfortable in my own skin.
