This is the introduction video where we discuss what we are going to build in this project.
In this video, we are going to going to learn the true meaning of the term Augmented Reality. Most of the students get confused between the terms Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality. We are going to throw light on that and learn the differences between them.
In the previous video we learned about augmented reality and what it is. In this lecture i wanted to explain to you the process we are going to go about to create our very first augmented reality application.
The first thing we need to about is Vuforia.
The second thing we are going use is a free software called Unity3d.
And lastly,we will discuss the walk-through of the project and what we are going to be making by the end.
We are going to learn what is Vuforia and how it is going to help us build an Augmented Reality application.
We are also going to signup to use this service.
In order to authorize the usage of Vuforia we need to generate a license key. This tells Unity (going to be used later) that we have the permission to use Vuforia in our project.
Marker/Image Target – this is an image which is recognized and tracked by a mobile device’s camera. This acts as an origin for augmentation. Once recognized, content can be displayed with respect to iy
We are going to discuss a software called Unity and how to install it.
We are going to get familiar with the interface of Unity in this video. Including things like -
1) Camera 2) Package 3) Inspector Panel
We are going to learn about prefabs (A resource that can be used again and again and there is no need to destroy it)
We are going to learn about 3d models and how they are going to be used in the project. We will also learn how to import a free 3d model of red samurai into our project from the Unity Asset Store.
Things we are going to do in this video -
1) Discuss the importance of Packages that have in our project
2) Import the 2 unity packages into our project
3) Add the AR Camera to the scene and hierarchy panel
4) Add the license key to our Unity Project
In this video we are going change the location of our stone_hires image (image target) and add the character of Red Samurai to the scene.
In this video, we are going to load our image data-set and activate it. We are also going to test whether our Augmented Reality application works or not through the webcam.
In this video, we are going to build our Windows Application and convert it to android application. So that it could be used with an android mobile phone.
Have you always wanted to build amazing Augmented Reality applications but didn't know where to start? May be you did not have any idea as to which skills were important to learn for building Augmented Reality Applications?
