This course is designed to give a coach who is new to the activity or new to directing a guide to putting together a tournament. Included in this course are useful planning tools and examples of items you will need to produce for your tournaments. Most of the course is geared towards the planning phase. Additionally, the day of the tournament and post-tournament evaluation is also covered. The course also included samples and templates that can be adapted for your tournaments.

Currently I work on a couple of different projects. I coach forensics at a high school in the Bay Area, California. I have been the Director of Forensics for over three years now. I have been coaching and judging competitive speech and debate for about five years total. Two years ago, I formed a non-profit organization who's mission is to support speech and debate education through various initiatives.
My background in Communication began back in 2004 when I took my first Public Speaking course. It was life changing, and enabled me to find my true passion. Since then I have taken several courses in the field earned a certificate and competed on college debate teams. My proudest achievements competitively have been taking a Gold Medal in Team Parliamentary Debate and a Silver in L-D/Parliamentary Debate.
My goal is to help as many people as possible realize their voice. By teaching the fundamentals of communication I have helped numerous students begin the journey of articulating their own voices on issues that matter to them the most. I'm hoping that Udemy can help me explore new ways of teaching these skills.
