Workout 1 - Read understand & go to the pool with a big smile

What are we going to learn in workout 1 - Learn the WEST basic freestyle

We swim breaststroke with our hands, legs kicking in crawl slowly, hands stretched a bit deeper than our head, something like 35cm from the water line.

After 10-12 m we stand slowly.

Swimming Drill 1 - Hands Breaststroke legs freestyle

We walk in the shallow water something like 1m deep, both shoulders in the water, our hands like a windmill, palm a bit opened and loose.

When the hand touches the water we glide at the same depth as the previous exercise. *in order to balance our legs and to protect the lower back, first make the step with the right leg and glide with the right leg and the same way with the left hand & leg.

Swimming drill 2- The Walking windmill in WEST swimming

We swim without breathing 10-12m with our hands strait & loose, when the hand touches the water we glide slowly in the water.

After we run out of air or we reach 12m we stand up slowly. The purpose of the exercise is to loosen the shoulders and open the lungs.

Swimming drill 3- Gliding windmill in WEST swimming

We put one hand in 35 cm from the water line, second hand next to the thigh, kick for 5 seconds slowly & swap hands, during the kicking the head has to stay strait. Learning the superman drill will help us glide more, float better and eventually help you breathe easily.

Swimming drill 4- Superman 5 seconds no breathing

We walk and stop in each important point

1-      Palm touching slowly

2-      Elbow entering the water while the hand is downwards.

3-      Shoulder touching the chin.

Our goal is in one hand, not to lift the elbow high in order for us to loosen the neck and in the other hand not to let the elbow fall in the water before the palm and create a "stop" in the water.

Swimming drill 5- Walking with the 3 points in WEST swimming technique

We swim freestyle and think about the 3 points at the end of the glide, in the 3rd point try to wait a bit while stretching.

Swimming drill 6 - Swimming freestyle with the 3 points

We swim freestyle WEST without moving the head and count strokes without breathing, when we run out of air stand up slowly, inhale just once and continue swimming. Send me if possible the number of strokes you did in 25m pool

Swimming drill 7- Counting strokes in freestyle without breathing
Basic freestyle course, second swimming workout you will learn to breathe.

2nd swimming workout drill 4- Breathing every 3 strokes with 180 flip

We walk in the shallow water with the head facing down, hands in freestyle counting 3 strokes, every 3rd stroke we inhale slowly and continue walking with hands moving. The purpose of this exercise is to get used to breathing slowly and protect the neck while walking.

2nd swimming workout drill 5- walking in freestyle breathing every 3 strokes

** exactly like drill 1 -

Swim a slow freestyle without breathing. Our goal is to loosen the neck and drag the legs while swimming.

2nd swimming workout drill 6- swimming without breathing

Swim freestyle and breathe every 3 strokes, the goal in swimming WEST is let the glide turn the body, by that you will gain more air and protect the lower back and neck.

Count your strokes in 25m pool and send me the number of strokes.

2nd swimming workout drill 7- counting strokes & breathing every 3 strokes

Some times we think we have a breathing problem, but the reason we don't have enough air is the drag that our legs create.

Founder and CEO at "Water World" & WEST swimming technique

Hi, I'm Ori Sela, owner and professional manager of Water World and WEST swimming technique, the healthiest swimming technique in the world.

I grew up next to the sea and never left the water since, the water was the only place I could feel good, alive, it helped me treat my ADHD & my ballet disk.

I dedicate my life to give back  humanity the love  the water gave me.

Today, after passing the age of 44, I have an amazing wife, Tami & 4 kids, Tom,Libby, Dean &Reef and over 30 years of experience as a swimmer, a qualified hydro therapist, swimming coach, babies swimming instructor, Watzu, Jahara and shiatsu therapist, triathlon coach, open water coach, therapeutic swimming instructor, pregnant women coach and for my mom - hold a BA in business & marketing from IDC, Herzliya.

But most importantly, I work with thousands of babies, kids and adults, some of which suffer lower back or neck pains, recover from CVA or an accident, or fighting a fear of the water, and teach them the right way to swim.

Today, Water World is one of the biggest most professional swimming and hydrotherapy clubs in the world with over 140 coaches and therapists working in the water, believing in the water and the strength it can give you.

I believe people are different and every man or women needs to swim according to their own unique DNA. What's right for Michael Phelps is probably not right for you, and what's right for you is not right for Muhammad, Charles, Jennifer or Tom.

I am here in this world to help people; I believe in the water and love the water with every part of my body and every breath I take.

Join us, and feel amazing, you will know that it is right for you.

Coached, swam and claimed the World record with 5 of my friends in the longest relay open water swim, from Cyprus to Israel and swam with his team 377 km, in order to raise the awareness on the issue of sea pollution in the Mediterranean (in association with Zalul NGO).

The Dream – to teach and heal millions of people who suffer from lower back pain all around the world with the WEST (Water World Swimming Therapy ) swimming technique and all online.

In Addition – Ori gives consultations on building and operating swimming pools.

Ori talked about “The Power Of The Sea" in TEDx Nicosia and told his story as a problematic child until breaking a world record.
