What Will I Learn?
  • Think practically about cases when an artificial intelligence technology like IBM Watson and other can be used to augment human efforts.
  • Use IBM the Bluemix platform: set up an account, an app, and a cloud cognition service.
  • Train IBM Watson's Natural Language Classifier using a dataset that you've built (don't worry--it's not difficult!).
  • Calibrate a Prospector Bot through Google Sheets (which also means that you've learned a lot more about using Google Sheets as a tech/automation hub!).

  • You should be able to use tools like Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel at an intermediate level. Though no coding is required in this course, you will be working with some fairly sophisticated cloud-based tools.
  • You'll need to have a Twitter account (a new one is fine) and will need to be able to use Twitter's search capabilities. We'll teach you more about using Twitter's Advanced Search in the course.

Build Cool AI Technology in Less Than 90 Minutes (No Coding!)

Stay Current! Learn by Doing! Step-by-Step Process!

If you’re reading this, you probably already know. Artificial intelligence is one of the most significant technological developments of our time. In fact, we are quickly reaching a point where the people who can use AI will be able to keep pace and do incredible things that are almost unimaginable now. The people who can’t use AI will be left on the sidelines, watching in frustration as the world changes around them.

You don’t have to be one of them. You can stay “in-the-know” and learn about artificial intelligence, simply by taking this course. And you don’t have to be a technical wizard either. There’s not even any coding! Just follow the step-by-step process. It’s super easy and lots of fun. By the end, you’ll have free AI technology that you can use forever.

Create a “Smart” Twitter Bot Powered by IBM Watson

This Twitter bot – which we call the Prospector bot – is powered by IBM’s cloud cognition technology. The amazing bot locates all the Tweets around a chosen topic, filters out the ones that are relevant to you, and presents them to you on Google Sheets. This has practical applications for businesses, non-profits, government, and personal use.

By creating your own artificial intelligence Twitter bot, one that’s customizable to meet your unique needs, you discover how to:

  • Build apps with IBM Bluemix (no coding required!)
  • Curate Tweets by training IBM Watson’s Natural Language Classifier, a Watson service built on machine learning
  • Successfully apply Twitter’s Advanced Search Functions
  • Use Google Sheets as your automation hub (i.e. bot headquarters)

It’s easy with our step-by-step process where you’ll learn by doing the work yourself. Upon completion, you’ll have a newfound understanding of artificial intelligence, one that will set you up for the blistering speed of technological changes. This is a must-have skill for the future, and a great way to establish a foundation for making the most of AI.

Honorary IBM Cloud Advisor & IBM Champion for Cloud

Tanmay Bakshi, 13 years old, is a Software/Cognitive Developer, Author, Keynote Speaker, Algorithm-ist, Honorary IBM Cloud Advisor, IBM Champion for Cloud and YouTuber. He lives just outside of Toronto, in Brampton, Canada.

Programming since the age of 5, he had his first iOS app, tTables, accepted when he was 9 years old. Since then, he has created apps, such as the youth-focused “I Can, We Can!” app, and tID Vault, along with tGuess, a number guessing game for Apple Watch and iPhone, just to name a few.

His YouTube series “Tanmay Teaches: Watson” made him the youngest IBM Watson developer.

He has created algorithms, ranging from a recursive Tower of Hanoi algorithm, which helps to solve the Tower of Hanoi problem, to AskTanmay, one of his most significant creations, is the world’s first web-based NLQA (Natural Language Question Answering) System to be powered by IBM Watson.

More recently, the algorithms he engineers are focused towards his own, custom implementations of AI/ML algorithms, such as Neural Networks.

In the past one year, he was invited for keynotes at IBM Interconnect 2016 (Las Vegas), IBM DeveloperConnect 2016 (Bangalore), National Leadership Conference (Niagara Falls), Apple UK Headquarters (London), Education DisruptED (Winnipeg), TechConnect 2016 (IBM Software Lab - Markham, Ontario), Walmart Innovation Day (David Glass Tech Center (Walmart Tech Headquarters) - Arkansas), just to name a few!

He has also conducted workshops teaching IBM Watson & Apple Swift, at IBM’s Software Lab (Markham, Ontario), at the Halcyon London International School (London, UK), Apple UK Headquarters (London), to name a few!

Since he is a strong supporter of “Everyone Can Code” and “STEM Education”, he has been giving talks to students around the world.

To add to his credentials, IBM crafted a special Summer Training Program for Tanmay at their Biggest Software Lab in Canada, and at the Bluemix Garage in Downtown Toronto.

For about 6 years, he’s been sharing his knowledge, and helping his Subscribers on his YouTube channel called “Tanmay Teaches”, with solving their problems related to Programming, Algorithms, Watson, AI, Neural Networks, Machine Learning, Math, and Science.

He has 117 video tutorials, and a community of over 10k subscribers, ranging from kids, graduating university students, to professionals.

He is currently also working with his mentors from IBM and Walmart, to create IoT-enabled devices, Cognitive & Neural Network based systems.

If you’d like to, you can see him in various media interviews online, for the work he has done.

To further continue and spread his passion of coding his ideas into reality, the next step was to author a book, called “Hello Swift! - iOS App Programming for Kids and Other Beginners”. The goal of this book is to help kids, and beginners, from around globe, learn iOS App Development in Apple Swift.

He aspires to inspire at least 100,000 youth, and beginners, to learn to Code, working on his thought, “The world needs more programmers”. He is always available, and willing, to help pave the way, through their journey, to become Coders.
