Section 1: Why, Who, What & How
This material has traveled far and wide and and through lots of pain to get to you right now, born of experience and service.
I have been on a mission to fight the stigma of addiction by showing people the truth about what causes substance abuse in the brain. "Millions could be saved if they knew the actual cause of addiction, which is not an effect of low morals and poor personal responsibility."
Paul Cook sprouted up in the midwest city of St. Louis, MO to a family of dedicated tennis players. With wonderful loving parents, he had every advantage of great schooling, sports, leadership and family warmth. In college, competitive tennis and lacrosse kept him busy. But after graduation mental illness and the disease of addiction began to "cancel out all the blessings God had given me," said Cook. "When that is happening you totally lose yourself. Many go even further into dispair and confusion than life can take."
Eventually, Paul would find the miracle of recovery and with it, an insatiable hunger to find out everything possible about the brain and addiction.
As a speaker, author and Radio and TV broadcaster in St. Louis, his enlightening teachings are born of experience and service. Paul is here to tell the truth about modern addiction and recovery.
This father of two young girls and husband to Jennifer, is on a mission to fight the stigma of addiction by showing people the truth about what causes substance abuse in the brain

Section 2: #AWARENESS BAY# - IMPORTANT INFO HERE!
This video is what you will be avoiding.
Addiction costs the U.S. a reported $580 billion dollars a year. Taking my course right now can save you tens of thousand of dollars in the future.
Pain Medication, Opiates and Inhalants
***Now with all of the other hazards your kid needs to manage, an even more dangerous lure has been added to this confusing maze: your home. You may have heard quite a bit about this. Experimental kids don't need drug dealers or toxic peer pressure, a pot pouri of mind altering substances are already available in your medicine cabinet. Remember when your back went out and the doc called in some meds for you. You took one and it didn't really work, so he called in a different medicine, maybe a muscle relaxer.
Where I live in the US we take up 4.6% of the worlds population, but we take 80% of the worlds pain medicine. Think about that. Lots of opiates, at home, behind the mirror.
If son or daughter isn't interested, a friend will be. This is a big part of my story.
When your home's pain meds run out they buy pills, then that gets too expensive, so they go to the substance that is much cheaper, but a massive amount stronger. Heroin.
Another sickening source of experimentation waits under the kitchen sink or in the garage. Houghing. Sadly, I had a friend in recovery who died after getting hooked on those, they found hundreds of empty cans in his apartment around his body.

Section 3: *****The 5 ARMOR PLATES OF ACTION*****
We will learn the very latest facts about modern marijuana use in the next lecture. As it is the beginning for most substance abusers and addicts it deserves it's own special time and possibly its own course.
Ecstasy is the street name for a drug also known as MDMA. This is a synthetic chemical, with complex effects that mimic both methamphetamine stimulants and mescaline hallucinogens. Ecstasy entry point into the blood stream is as a pill taken and digested in the stomach.
This delivery system makes it a popular and quick drug for users to avoid detection. The "warm/fuzzy" euphoria it creates causes a very social effect. A users temperature increases and pupils become very large. - deaths have happened from overheating. It drains the brain's natural "feel-good" chemicals. Users are very tired the next day and very depressed two days later.
Lots of water drinking and even suckers or hard candy are used. From afar kids on Ecstasy just appear to be happy and not even drinking alcohol.
In 1985 when the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) banned its use due to its potential as an agent of brain damage. Today, it remains on the list of drugs prohibited from sale or use. MDMA is categorized as a Schedule I controlled substance, meaning that there is no legal purpose or benefit of the drug.
Now, Ecstasy has a dangerous cousin called "Molly." It's the powder version of MDMA.
IMPORTANT TRUTH: Nobody just says I want Heroin, that's crazy. But you devolve down this road gradually. Drug experimentation takes you through all of your "nevers" eventually. Like: "I'll never try cocaine."
Time to make contact and begin the second part of this course. Hopefully you feel extremely aware of what is going on out there and what is coming your child's way eventually. If you don't feel adequately aware, it will be good to watch the previous videos again.

Think about ARMOR, in movies and shows have you ever seen a brave knight wearing chain-mail ? Well, the innovative thing about chain-mail in the 4th century was that it protected against blades, but it allowed movement to fight more efficiently. Before chain-mail, knights wore this cumbersome metal armor. Athletic movement was impossible. Picture chain-mail worn under normal clothes. That is what you are providing in a way.
NOTE: Please wait till the ending of my talking in the video for the short slides to show your child. It comes in two parts. Appropriate evidence for 7 to 10 year olds and then for 11 to 14 year olds ( showing this up to age 14 or 15 will be good as well.)

Thirteen years ago Paul Cook made it his personal goal to simply make as many people as possible feel great about being alive. Through his struggles Paul learned that, "True success and significance comes from feeling right about yourself." Since then Paul Cook has carried that message as an award winning radio personality, TV host and the author of the Floyd and the Future Frog children's series of books and author of the memoir, Cooked in LA.
Paul frequently speaks to groups about bullying and substance abuse. Paul believes that changing the drinking and drugging culture in our schools is the only way to tackle the problem that is claiming so many great minds from our generation today.
Paul's first course on Udemy will assist parents in taking an active and successful role in their preteens lives to help them overcome modern drug experimentation.
