The FBI used traditionally and successfully, precious work of Dr. Ernst Kretschmer, the German Psychiatrist (1888-1964) who has managed to establish a correspondence between a given pathology and morphology. He especially distinguished between the three main factors the athletic type (muscular, large-boned), the asthenic type (thin, small, week) and the pyknic type (stocky, fat etc). In this course, we will discuss only the athletic type.

Athletic structure of an organized sexual criminal

The male athletic type is characterized by a strong development of the bony skeleton, musculature and epidermis (the thin outer layer of the skin). He has an average stature (or above), a particularly powerful build, a thorax and an impressive shoulder girdle, a taut stomach, torso narrows down to the bottom which may look narrow outwardly the pelvis and legs (although actually strong) compared with the width of the upper body. The head, very loud, is planted on an open neck. The typical expression, front view, the part of the neck and shoulders comes from the trapezoidal (a flat shape with four size, none of them are parallel) outline.

The heaviness of bone structure has its special mark in thick clavicles (collarbone= the bone between shoulder and neck) into the clips of the hands and feet. The structure is especially important in the chest and shoulders. It is the same for the ends that may seem hypertrophy (The enlargement of a tissue from the increase in size of its cells) largest volume of the hand in the cases observed reached 25 cm, while the average is approximately 20 cm. Shoulder width can reach 42.5 cm, which even exceeded once the average of 5 cm. The ends are rather long. He has good elastic consistency and appears thickened, especially in the face. By cons, the fatty development on the face is relatively low, almost normal compared to other tissues.

The size is generally above average. The sizes of 1.80 m are common, the largest measuring 1.86 m. However, we can not set minimum size for the athletic.

The evolution of athletic style through the ages is small. This type occurs in puberty (18 years) and gains its expressiveness beyond the age of 25 to 50; it is almost intact in many cases. No studies have been conducted after the age 50 on the evolution of athletic style. At least, not in my knowledge.

Facial structure of an organized sexual criminal

A typical face has the tendency to the expansion of width, softness and roundness. It is surmounted a large skull round, wide and deep. The epidermis is gently mold on the slightly protruding skeleton, presence of red patches on cheeks and nose is possible. The nose is straight or curving, has significantly lowered the root and rather wide. It is a bit flattened, fleshy in the end. The eyes are small are usually well developed, broad and rounded.

The bone plate of the skull tends towards the broad and flat shapes. The design feature of the face parts (trunk, nose, cheekbones) does not suffer. The young faces have not yet modeled this: they are full, round, gentle. This softness is consistent with certain types of temperaments, such as sincere and kindness. The proportions of the forehead, face, nose and chin are generally very balanced.

The facial outline varies around the flat pentagon (shape with five size and five angles). These faces are very wide (having a larger distance from one side to another). Front view of the lower jaw has a flat and wider curve. When shape of the jaw is not yet very pronounced, that fat helps to give it to the pentagonal shape. That is why it is sharper among older people than in younger. The flat pentagon is delimited at the top by a horizontal edge along and joining the two temples, laterally by two verticals (the angle of a temple jaw) in the bottom by the lower jaw forming an obtuse angle. One can find these characteristics in younger age when the jaw is wide and flat.
