Here are some recent reviews from my ART STUDENTS:

★★★★★ "EASY TO FOLLOW"

I have been a Bob Ross certified instructor for 26 years and I have taught in various venues. Kelly is very clear in her instructions and she makes it easy to follow what she is doing. The class is simple enough for beginners and yet she gives the student plenty of room for creating a little on their own. The instruction on the supplies was also clear and easy to follow.

~Cherly M.

★★★★★ "ENJOYED"

"I enjoyed doing this this painting. I am new to watercolor. Was able to follow, having to go back occasionally. Will probably do this painting several times just for the practice. I contacted the Kellie Chasse sight because of interest in alcohol oil painting. So will be an active student for awhile to come. Thank you for a great beginning!!"

~Kathleen F.

★★★★★ "BIG HELP"

"Because everything was explained so simply, and Kellie's painting in real time was a very big help. I intend to take more of her courses in the future."

Section 1: Alcohol Ink on Yupo Course Introduction
02:00

I have been teaching art since 2007 in several forms including watercolor, acrylic, and alcohol inks.  Helping to teach both the experienced artist and new people is very rewarding.  I hope you enjoy the class and feel free to share your completed work with the other students once you have completed.

02:33

Thank you for being interested in my alcohol ink class.  We will go over two different mediums in this course.  The first will be painting on a tile and the second medium will be using Yupo paper.

06:34

This video covers all the materials you will need for the class.  I try and use materials that are fairly easy to get, so you can jump right in and start enjoying the class.  There is also a downloadable PDF of materials needed.

Section 2: Now we will begin painting our tile.
02:13

We will now begin by painting the background for our alcohol ink painting on the tile.

02:34

Great, now we will take our second step of our alcohol ink painting, while it is still wet.  Remember you can always watch the video first and then go through and follow me the second time if it helps.

02:19

The final video for painting your tile.  I would love to see your finished tile if you want to share it in the discussion board for the class.

Section 3: Now we will begin painting on Yupo paper.
02:45

Now we will begin working on a scene using Yupo paper.  Let's tape down our paper and get started.

03:20

I've just added this quick practice session for you to try a wet in wet pour and to see the difference when you do not use blending solution.

04:14

Let's begin the background.

03:00

Now it is time for the second layer of your painting.

02:23

The colors are really looking nice at this point.  Let's add some more detail to your painting.

04:13

Now we can do the final touches on your alcohol painting.  Remember art is always unique and your work will look different even if you copied me exactly.  That is one of the beauties of art, is no two pieces are ever the same.

Section 4: Bonus Section - Now we will go over how to seal and present your work.
02:41

Caring for our work of art is important and I will go over how to seal your new artwork.

02:58

Want to know what I use to display my work?  I will tell you exactly where and how I display my alcohol ink works of art.  This may give you more ideas or you can display your work similarly.

In this video I will demonstrate how I give my art a professional framed look.

I'll be using a watercolor painting in this demo, but for a Yupo painting just make sure your painting is not touching the glass (a mat will normally take care of this). From my experience hanging my personal work not in direct sunlight,  and using UV glass,  I have been able to skip the sealing process.

How to Give Your Art a Professional Frame job!

06:40

I wanted to add this little extra video as a bonus. Because you have to work so fast (wet in wet) on this piece, this watercolor demo may help see just how the trees are completed.
