Design: Create the Liquid Text Animation!
7 Lectures 34:38

With the first lesson we will outline and separate our text to shapes. This will teach us a little bit about working with Shape Layers and their Paths and also how to lay groundwork while we work in Adobe After Effects CC 2015

Preview 03:49

The animation on one, single letter can be perfomed in 3 steps. The first step will be to create a mask composition which will deal as the fill & animation sequence running through the letter. After Effects allows us to use the Track Matte option to be sure we will not run above the actual letter.

STEP 1. Create the Mask Composition

In the second step in our After Effects Liquid Animation fillout we will use several effects and apply them to our layers. This will allow us to work with some keyframes, apply and learn various effects in order to finalize the animation for the first letter.

STEP 2. Work with the Stroke

In step three we will make an adjustment layer in After Effects which will deal as a effects holder on top of other layers. An adjustment layer deals as an additional place to put some elements / effects which will apply to the entire composition (or at least to the layers under it in the hierarchy. Replicate the steps to prepare one of your own!

STEP 3. Add the Adjustment Layer

In this lesson I want to run through the entire technique and all previous steps we did in one, concise manner. You can watch one more time how to make one letter from start to finish if you want to be more familiar on how to make it in After Effects and how to perform the continuous steps quicker.

See It One More Time

Precomposing is very important in After Effects, no matter what you do or animate. It allows you to group items, make your composition more organized and add effects and changes in bulk to all elements within a comp. With this lecture I want to show you how you can utilize precomposing to make your animation better and colorize everything to make the reveal as liquid as possible.

Precompose for Better Results

Once you finish the animation in Adobe After Effects you will wonder if you did everything you could and want to have in the picture. I will show you one small trick you can emulate in order to create a few funny blobs emerging from our liquid text animation reveal. We will use native After Effects plugins to generate them.

BONUS SECTION: Course Updates & Little Design Challenges for Curious Users!
1 Lecture 06:28

This is a little bonus design experience I would like to share with you. From time to time we have to prepare a design in After Effects that would seem counter-intuitive to make as a graphic designer. Designing in AE is not the same as drawing in Pohotoshop where all the tools are straightforward. I want to show you a technique of making patterns with the repeater in motion graphic software.

Bonus: Creating a pattern over another object with Repeater

In this lesson I want to teach you how to make gif animations out of After Effects compositions by rendering a video and preparing the GIF in Photoshop, and to show you how to share the work for swag or feedback within the class :)

Engaged and Passionate PowerPoint & After Effects instructor

Hi! My name is Andrzej Pach, more known as "Nigel" and I spend my time with graphic design, motion & animaiton, typography, video editing and online teaching on a daily basis. The majority of my work is done in Adobe After Effects & Microsoft PowerPoint 2013 / 2016 - naturally this is the software I want to teach about and share my experience with you. I have completed well over 3000 graphic projects (On Fiverr alone more than 2500 reviews) for clients, mostly including video animations like intros, outros and transitions for various Youtube channels & marketers. I would like to share the knowledge I was able to "stack up" during the process. I am always willing to help people out by enhancing their brand and Internet media.

Who am I ?

I am a 27 y.o (born 1989) and a University Graduate (July 2014). A few years back after shifting from one hobby to another after getting hired to prepare a website and business card for a local business in my area I finally "felt it". Since then (2011) I was expanding my skillset in this area completing various graphic related projects. Places like the WarriorForum, freelancing websites or graphic contests across the web caught me in its own snare and never let me go.

What is the next step?

After having several years of experience as a freelancer with a keen focus on creativity handling various projects ranging as work for very small businesses to websites and Youtube channels with over 300k subscribers I am looking forward to share my knowledge wrapped up in exciting courses easy to follow and most important - USEFUL for you! I am looking to work with forward-thinking people who wish to create something original, that will reinforce their brand and follow their vibe. I am always committed to provide value while giving away random tips to make your workflow easier.

Did you really create something?

How far would bring me lying and any sort of scam? Nowhere. I do believe in making the Web Business and Internet Marketing world a better place, because my actions will affect my fellowers, friends, family and future children. Since I live in a small village where people work in agriculture or do physical labor work I set the goal for me to be a sort of pioneer in the web-based business field growing myself as a designer every single day.

You can always contact me as I don't mind talking to anyone and sharing how could I help your business or what course I might record if you like my teaching style!
