General Paper Specialist

Augustine is the Founding Director of Augustine Chan General Paper Specialist (ACGPS) and author of the Answer Guide for the General Paper 10-year series, published in collaboration with Fairfield Book Publishers.

Amongst his other achievements, Augustine was awarded the Certificate of Honour for Inspirational Mentorship by His Excellency S R Nathan, the former President of the Republic of Singapore in 2009. He is also a founding member of community movement SPLAT! which clinched the Gold Award of the Youth Service-Learning Award in 2008 and the President’s Award For Volunteerism in 2012.

Augustine has 13 years experience in teaching General Paper and has clocked in excess of 15,000 teaching hours on the subject. He served as a full-time General Paper teacher in Catholic Junior College from 2003 to 2009. He then served as a Flexi-Adjunct Teacher at Dunman High School from 2010 to 2013. Concurrently, Augustine also provided group tuition classes at Distinction Tutorial Center and Learners’ Lodge Tuition Center during this period. From 2012 to 2015, Augustine served as a full-time tutor at Learners’ Lodge Tuition Center, first as an Educational Specialist (2012-2013) and then as a Senior Educational Specialist (2014-2015).

Augustine has set up his own tuition practice to provide a more holistic and comprehensive learning experience for his students. At ACGPS, he will share with students a diverse spectrum of unique skills to excel at both the Paper 1 (essay) and Paper 2 (comprehension) elements of General Paper.
