This course teaches you about theory of Music, and will prepare you for success in the ABRSM Grade 5 Theory of Music exam. If you learn a musical instrument and have completed a Grade 5 practical exam, you'll need to pass Grade 5 Theory of Music before you can progress to Grade 6, 7 or 8 practical exams.
There is plenty of subject-specific terminology in the course, but this is covered as we progress.
The course includes video lectures and pdf handouts.
The course should take about 2 hours to complete just from the videos, but 5-6 if you use other resources too.
Grade 5 Theory of Music is sometimes thought of as a 'stumbling block' for some musicians, and it can appear a bit 'dry' and academic. This course presents the material in an engaging way and will help you be successful in the exam.
