Section 1: 1950's

Introduction into what you will learn, how too approach this course and tips and advise so you get the most out of what you will learn from the lessons inside the course.

Kick start your 1950's with an Elvis influence strumming pattern. Just because this is our first lesson in the course does not mean it will be easy. The only real challenges faced will be the fast temp of the strumming, but this is a fantastic pattern to learn with a set of fun chords.

Buddy Holly influence strumming pattern in waltz style strum, a little tough at first but once you get into the groove it is great fun.

Blues Rock 'n' Roll riff and strumming together in this fun and easy'ish to play exercise, the tempo is fast but start slow and you will LOVE this one.

Section 2: 1960's

Influence here by the Fab Four and a typical song arrangement from them. Fun up beat chords, fun and crucial to learn strumming pattern with a great jam session toghether.

Beautiful slow strumming pattern, and possibly one of the most important strumming patterns you could EVER learn. With nice folk chords, and a split strumming patern (more info inside the course).

In this lesson you will learn an absolute BELTER ... Picking and strumming together, fast tempo chords and an awesome strumming pattern. This is influence by the biggest rock band ever to walk the planet and they are still going strong today.

Section 3: 1970's

1970's starts off with a Punk rock classic, but the best thing about this lesson is the chords are simple, tempo is fun, meaning you can concerntrate more on the very cool strumming pattern.

This lovely set of chords and strumming is influenced by Rod Stewart, but what is great about this lesson is that you will learn picking and strumming together and a fun set of chords.

In part 2 we focus on the strumming pattern.

In this lesson you are going to learn a beautiful set of chords, however there is a barre chord to learn. BUT .... Please don't worry if you cannot play barre chords yet, I will teach you inside this lesson how to play the barre chord in this exercise. And I will also show you some very crucial tips on how to play alternative chords to the barre chord.

Part 2 carry's on nicely with the strumming pattern and the 5/8 strumming signature.

Section 4: 1980's

We kick start our 80's era with a Jam (clue there where the influence of the lesson comes from). You will learn some very crucial skills and strumming techniques in this lesson. A bit tough at first, but with practice is very effective.

You can unleash your Rock God inside you for this lesson, you are going to master a good set of chords, a great strumming pattern, a cool effective lick ... But more importantly this lesson will improve your timing.

Part 2 nicely carries on with the strumming element.

Influenced by a David Bowie classic, we get into a brilliant groove in the final lesson from 1980's.

Part 2 focuses more on the 6/8 strumming signature, very important to learn and when mastered you will feel a huge improvement in your strumming.

Section 5: 1990's

We start the 1990's era with one of the biggest influential bands in my guitar journey, Nirvana. You will learn barre chords, which help with understanding music theory a little more, and you will have a real good rock thrashing with this one.

The Brit Pop era was alive in the 1990's, swamped with bands influenced by the 1960's and the music was great. The influence from this lesson is a fantastic band who were the masters in strumming and rhythm, if you master this lesson you will see HUGE improvements in your overall streumming skills.

The idea from this lesson is a song that possibly was the most famous song in the whole 1990's, however the band themselves were not the biggest but inside this lesson you will learn fun fast strumming pattern and techniques.

Section 6: 2000's

Picking and strumming together in this acoustic adapted rock millennium classic, this is influenced by a truly fantastic band of this era. Its a Killer ....

One of the biggest bands in the world today is Cold Play, and I simply could not teach a lesson influenced by their music. This lesson has a set of wonderful chords to learn, a lovely strumming pattern and a nice easy structure to follow.

You will instantly recognise this 'beautiful' song, the strumming pattern is interesting and a must to learn.

Section 7: 2010's

Will start our current ers of 2010's plus with one of the biggest artists of this decade so far, he loves his acoustic guitar, and I particularly love his music. You will learn some very very crucial skills in this lesson, from palm muting to chucking ..

It is nice to end this course with a very chilled easy to play acoustic song, what makes this lesson great to learn is the tempo of the exercises. The lesson starts off slow, and then the tempo really speeds up quickly, and then slows down again. This is a technique to learn if you want to improve your rhythm and timing.

We end our course on picking, and although there is no strumming inside this lesson, learning picking really helps with your strumming skills. More explained inside the lesson how picking helps strumming.
