3dsMax for Revit Users: The lecture introduces the topic and covers the topics and the approach to learning in this tutorial series.
3dsMax for Revit Users: This tutorial gives a introduction to the instructor - a practicing architect with many years of design experience.
3dsMax for Revit Users:: This is a short self self assessment to ensure that you have the right equipment and skills to take the course.
3dsMax for Revit Users. This tutorial is a brief introduction to the basics and outlines the content of the section.
3dsMax for Revit Users:: This is the start of the basics and introduces users to the 3ds Max interface. This is necessary to follow the case study.
3dsMax for Revit Users:: In this tutorial we look the project in Revit. We look at how to convert the Revit files into a format that can be imported into 3ds Max.
3dsMax for Revit Users:: In this tutorial we look at the units set up in 3ds Max and we customise it to import our files from Revit.
3dsMax for Revit Users:: In this tutorial we look at how to navigate the view ports in 3dsMax. This is essential in order to follow the case study.
3dsMax for Revit Users: This tutorial concludes the section on the basics. Summarising the content that was taught from user interface to setting preferences and navigating the viewports.
3dsMax for Revit Users: This tutorial outlines the topics covered in the case study. Students are able to download the resource materials used in this lecture under the lecture 27 titled Bonus Materials Palette.
3dsMax for Revit Users: In this tutorial we look at how to import the FBX files created in Revit into the 3dsMax.
3dsMax for Revit Users: In this tutorial we look at the camera function within 3dsMax and how set up views for rendering.
3dsMax for Revit Users: In this tutorial we continue with the set up of the camera function looking at how adjust the camera settings within 3dsMax.
3dsMax for Revit Users: In this tutorial we will look at the day light function in 3dsMax and how to set it up.
3dsMax for Revit Users:In this tutorial we continue with the setting up the daylight function in 3dsMax looking at how to adjust the daylight settings within the software programme.
3dsMax for Revit Users:In this lecture we start looking at materials in greater depth and especially apply glass to our model. Students are able to download the resource materials used in this lecture under the lecture 27 titled Bonus Materials Palette.
3dsMax for Revit Users:In this lecture we continue looking at materials and how to use a functional called multi sub object in the case study. Multi-sub-objects enables the user apply materials to a component containing many different materials.
3dsMax for Revit Users: In this lecture we continue to apply materials using multi sub objects.
3dsMax for Revit Users: In this lecture we explore the application of bricks to the model and look at how to apply as close to the real world dimensions of the brick as possible, to the model.
3dsMax for Revit Users: In this tutorial we continue with the application of bricks to the model and look at the concept of UVW map to objects.
In this tutorial we take a further look at materials, looking at doors.
3dsMax for Revit Users: In this lecture we look at how to apply materials to reflect the ground surface.
3dsMax for Revit Users: In this lecture we start looking the roof. The can be a complex plane of different angles. We will look at how to apply materials to them.
3dsMax for Revit Users: in this lecture we continue to apply materials to the roof of the model adjusting the materials to the different planes of the roof.
3dsMax for Revit Users: In this lecture we go over what we have learnt so far in the case study.
3dsMax for Revit Users: In this lecture we look at what we have covered and achieved so far in the whole course.
3dsMax for Revit Users: In this tutorial we have included the materials that were used in the tutorials above and added many more for students use. Good luck and Good bye.
3ds Max Design for Revit Users is designed as an introductory course for users of Revit who have modelled their architectural designs in Revit and wish to achieve a high end photorealistic render of the model in 3ds Max for presentation to their clients and public.
The course uses the case approach modelling real buildings and show a step by step approach to producing a satisfying photo realistic render. It introduces only those aspects of 3dx Max the student needs to produce a high quality render, saving the student months or even years of struggling to learn all the functionalities of 3dsMax..
In the course, students will cover
User Inferface
Converting Revit files to FBX files
Importing FBX files into 3dsMax
Creating Materials
Working with the Material Editor
Differentiating Between Materials and Textures
Using different Map types and Mapping Coordinates
Creating and Applying Materials and Textures
Creating and Positioning Cameras
Placing a model into a photograph (photomontage)
Understanding and Creating Ambient Light
Using Standard Lights and adding lights
Adjusting Shadow Parameters
Achieving Convincing CG Lighting with Global Illumination
