Course Description

Welcome to the 31 Day Guitar Challenge! I created this course because I want to give away everything that I learned to other new guitarists. I will show you the path to take to overcome any challenge or obstacle that may come your way. When I first picked up my guitar, I wished I had someone that could point me in the right direction when I felt stuck and wasn't improving like I wanted to. I will show you basic chords, techniques, songs, and scales to grasp the basic concept, but I want you to use my successes and failures to help you grow exceptionally fast while learning to play the guitar.

Please follow all the directions in the introduction video and you will do GREAT. If you ever need anything, feel free to reach out to me. I love seeing new people learn how to play the guitar and made this course for that very reason.

When taking this course, watch (1) video per day and play the guitar (2) times per day. I know this may seem like a lot, but your success and progress will grow exponentially if you do so. If you try to play multiple videos in one day, you will easily get burned out within a couple weeks. So plan to set aside time to play twice a day. Remember, this course is only one month long. It will take dedication, but you can do it and it WILL be worth it in the end.

Good luck and happy playing!

-Nate

In this lesson we learn how to play our first two songs! These songs will be easy to get down because they only consist of two chords. With enough practice, we will be able to get them down in no time at all!

07:27

In this lesson we learn how to play two more chords that we can add to our list of known chords. The more chords we know, the more interesting and creative songs we can create. We will also be able to practice switching back and forth from the four chords to work our chord changing speed.

Section 3: Week 2
03:40

In this lesson we learn an awesome strumming pattern that we can apply to hundreds of songs. It may take some time to get it down, but start slow and gradually speed it up to make this cool percussive rhythm pattern.

08:05

In this lesson we will learn how to move from chord to chord with ease. Finding out how to be as efficient as possible is key to playing the guitar.

07:52

In this lesson we learn what a capo is and how to effectively use a capo. Once we become familiar with this tool, we can customize any song to our preference. We will also learn a new song that has the four chords we already know.

05:23

In this lesson we will learn the A chord. Another chord we can add to the list to make some awesome songs.

04:51

In this lesson we learn how to change from chord to chord without getting off beat from the song we are playing. Once we practice this technique, we will be unstoppable.

05:44

In this lesson we learn how to play two more chords that are almost identical to each other. Add two more chords to the list that we already know.

06:03

In this lesson we learn the palm muting technique. This technique can give the guitar a completely different sound to give the song a cool effect.

04:34

In this lesson we learn the Bm chord. This chord is played with all four fingers and gets us closer to more complex chords in the future.

In this lesson we will learn how to make some new sounds with the guitar. With this technique we can add some chime sounding notes to give our songs even more personality.
