You don’t need to be an IT professional to understand the basics of how information flows over the Internet, but it is important to have a solid working knowledge of the concepts. Websites contain information, and this section gives you a clear understanding of how that information gets to the users who need it.

CSS is a language that allows us to change elements such as font, text color, background, borders and the position of elements on the page. CSS was designed to keep the content of web pages separate from the presentation or layout. By using CSS you can change the way your pages look without ever having to touch your content.

In this chapter we will learn how to manipulate images using Adobe Photoshop, and the best practices for utilizing those images in our site.

Anyone who has ever purchased a product, signed up for a newsletter, or created any kind of account on the Internet is familiar with forms. Forms are special web pages that collect data such as "Name", "Address", "Email", etc., and send that data to a server for processing. With forms, we create two-way communication on the Web. Every time you enter information in your Facebook account, or buy something on Ebay, or even Twitter, you are using a web form.
