Previously, he was a co-founder at Genoa Corp (acquired by Finisar), Epinions.com (IPO via Shopping.com), and Vast.com (largest white-label classifieds marketplace). Hes also invested in many companies, including Twitter, FourSquare, DocVerse (sold to Google), Mixer Labs (sold to Twitter), Jambool (Social Gold), SnapLogic, PlanCast, Stack Overflow, Heyzap, and Disqus.

    Many people loved Jay's talk about writing a pitchdeck, but asked for some more information on what a successful pitch deck looks like. This is by no means a perfect deck (I would argue it is only mediocre), but it is a successful deck. It was the exact same presentation Udemy used to raise $1M and is a good example of what you need in a pitchdeck and what slides should look like. That said, keep in mind that angel investors do not care as much about the presentation as VC's. In many of Udemy's pitch meetings, the deck was used as a way to frame the conversation and was only opened after a live demo of the site.

    Even if you think you've read everything on the web regarding raising money for start-ups, this course will compound your knowledge by many X. In each course, I was blown away with the amount of real world knowledge from each presenter and I feel far more prepared to move forward with our project.     Okay so this probably makes me total nerd but I finished this entire course in 1 sitting. Each session builds on the last giving you the info and tools you need to successfully enter into the funding process.
