    not in-depth enough

For something called "ultimate" I was expecting more. Not necessarily on the level of courses offered by Kelby or others like that, but still more. Too often I felt that I was just watching the instructor move sliders back and forth with little understanding of why you would want to do that. For example, he would often say "now the image looks great" but for me it just looked different, not necessarily great. He also completely neglected to talk of the DNG format at all. In the end, I'm not sure I learned any more than I would have just moving sliders and toggling settings back and forth on my own, so I'm left disappointed.

    Awesome Course Thank you!

Once I started watching the lessons, I found I couldn't stop. The program was amazing and the way Manfred explained and broke down the different sections, it made perfect sense for me. It not only helped me understand lightroom better, but as well gave me a better start with my hectic workflow! Firstly the thing I noticed was how easy it was to organize and process your images in a quick and comfortable way. I really enjoyed all the individual lessons and all small extras that he covers. Since I'm not a professional photographer, but do take lots of pictures, I do not have the time to spend hours with lightroom. But after viewing section 5, I'm totally confident that what I've learned from presets, will now speed up my workflow and my processing time. My personal benefit from this course is huge! I would definitely recommend this course to beginners and intermediate users. Thank you again for this great course!

A lot of information but few image editing techniques

I gave a low rating is because of a lot of information that the author tell me, I could do it myself and able to understand it without the instructions. To me, it was wasting a lot of time from section 1 through 5 and most everywhere else too. And for me, the exciting part about Lightroom 4 is actually editing different images style such as landscape, portrait, and macros images that are bad and make it better and presentable. When I get to section 6, and going through most of it, it was a let down. I did not feel like I learned any new techniques or a few different approaches in tackling the same problem. I wished the author pay more attention to section 6 and expanding it with more samples of different style of images, and how each tools and adjustment panels would be more beneficial to certain style. For example, in Basic panel or any panels, let say I changed a value of the highlights, shadows, or blacks and don't like the changes. I would like to have those values return to zero, but I don't want to select the reset or go back to history, what other option can I do? I learned from other people that just put the mouse and double click on the word highlights and the value return to zero on that highlight panel, very simple. May be because I expected a lot from Lightroom 4 compared to CS6 where you could select a certain shapes from the picture and edit only that portion...

    Great tutorials

Quick tempo and speed. Five stars out of five

It's ok... but not for absolute beginners

The instructor is engaging enough, but I wouldn't recommend this course to someone who is absolutely new to post processing. I picked up a few good tips, but I felt like he made the assumption that I, for example, already knew the difference between using the basic panel sliders vs using the tone curve, or the differences between hue, saturation and luminance, and how playing with those sliders would effect an image.
