This lecture shows a confrontation with a student and how the teacher tries to deal with it.
Watch the video and think about what the teacher might be doing wrong here. How could he improve his approach to this student confrontation to get a better outcome? What different strategies could he employ?
The purpose is to provide a discussion point for classroom management evaluation and support for teachers on how to deal with similar situations that may arise.
In this lecture, we look at what the teacher *could have done* to deal with the previous scenario including use of body language, tone and voice to "de-escalate" the situation.
The lecture contains a second example of a student confrontation and explores another way in which a teacher might try to manage the situation presented.
