Good for learning coding concepts. But there are tons of limits.

Read all. If you are truly a beginner this is ok if you don't want to learn code but it will no take you long before you reach a dead end on the limitations of this "no coding required engine". -Great for learning coding concepts. -Great code concept exercises. -Great for knowing the functionality of the android system. -O.K. for static images on the Android system. -You're learning programming even though no one tells you that you are. __________________________________________________ -The tools to learn this product are online for you, just need to do some reading. http://appinventor.mit.edu/explore/content/hellopurr.html -Terrible close to impossible if you want to make a decent game. Rather invest your time in learning another mobile game engine and graphics creation software. -Get to know different screen resolutions of the Android devices in the market so that you can make the appropriate graphics. (Recommend knowing how to use graphics software. Illustrator and Photoshop.) "This course doesn't cover that" -Very poor for graphics, buttons, text, and any other elements that you would like to add animation to it. Possible but tons of work and time. ex: make a button that gets bigger and smaller with a decent transition, gradually from small to big and back from big to small not just in one step. This is called animation. Animations are not covered in this course because it take a long time and effort and graphics to make a decent one. -Not made for the ambitious learner who would like to take this to the next level it is just a first step. To the publisher. Thank you but it is overpriced. This should be a $50 course. Not in one hour. When we think of an app we don't think of hello purr. We think of something more robust. I asked 2 questions. One was answered but the second question about the different devices you did not answer correctly. Just try this make an app that looks good on a galaxy s2 then try putting that same app on a galaxy note. Result the app is not re-sized to fit the screen, instead the app maintains the same size and there is a black border around the app.

    PERFECT course!

The course if fantastic. Very easy to follow. Not only by using the movies, but also by using the Step-by-step tutorials. More important to me, is the feedback when I have questions. You ask, and they come back with a reply in no time. Absolutely recommendable!

    Great course

Great easy to understand course that makes app building a simple great way to express yourself in todays technical environment.

  • Jordan Hackney
the course takes longer than an hour, but you can code an app in an hour once you are done

This course does a very good job walking you through app inventor and app design and what you need to think about to create an app from the ground up. the narrator speaks good english and they provide you with a bunch of cheat sheets early on.
